This article is bang on. A weak response to a terrorist attack emboldens our enemies and they will only come back to kill again. Offense is the best defense and the Bush administration stance is exactly the right one. India needs to do the same thing against Pakistan. Israel, India and the USA are the 3 top targets and enemies for Islam and all 3 need to take a strong offensive stance. We are in the midst of WWIII folks, what more do liberals need to see to realize that ?
This government has no right to stay in power. They must step down now. Let them know we dont want any bloody "peace process" with Pakistan. We dont want any bus or train service with Pakistan. We dont want any opening of border with Pakistan.
More importantly we dont want any "peace" with Pakistan. At this moment it is better to fight a war with them, then to endure this kind of bloodied peace.
I guess the difference between us and them is that our pacifist party doesn't even want to possess the weaponry, let alone use it.
Yet, India has been engaged in a peace process with the very neighbour it knows is out to dismember it through any and every means available to it.
Indeed, the US asks Israel and India to conduct themselves in a manner which we would never consider.
i even dread to think what would the situation be had democrats been in power during 9/11! they would have probably invited osama to peace talks, and would declare they have successfully resolved the whole issue.

I'm afraid that it's going to take a lot more than a couple of hundred deaths here and a couple of thousand deaths there before we truly pull our collective heads out of our asses.

Worse than that! The protestors are out in the streets calling our courageous President a Nazi and a war criminal! That is screwed up!
It remains my belief that the weak response of this country to terrorist attacks in the 1990s and the feminization of America under the Clinton regime emboldened the murderous barbarians to strike as they did on 9/11. Clinton treated the terrorist attacks of the 1990s as matters of criminal acts and law enforcement, and failed to recognize them as the acts of war that they were. As long as the monsters think that only the individuals perpetrators of murderous acts will be punished they will continue to strike, because they don't care about their own lives. But if they know we will act against their friends, families, and allies, they will know that their actions have wider consequences.

And yet , when the Gujarat riots erupted after the burning of the train in Godhra, every one was "horrified, shameful " etc. Narendra Modi is the most vilified person on the planet today, even more so than GWB. Most undeservedly. Yet if you notice there are now very few attacks in Gujarat ( fingers crossed) while Mumbai gets blasted with terrifying regularity.The riots were absolutely ghastly and I wish they never happen again, but now the Gujarat police almost always seem to get tipped off beforehand. I guess the local population knows how much everyone suffered the last time.
