>>AOL News is one of the most visited news sources on the Internet, according to data obtained from Comscore Networks. In June, AOL News received 20.9 million unique visitors, a 2 percent decrease from the same frame a year ago. Only Yahoo! News (27.6 million) and MSNBC (27.3 million) reach more visitors than AOL, which ranks higher than CNN (21.1 million).<<

I've heard that AOL has been losing members over the past few years - - this action will make that trend accelerate - - - even so, AOL has a lot of subscibers to their news service .

That is way to much power for one network to have !

What is more, Media Giant VIACOM is trying to buy up control of AOL . They own most of the UberLiberal Networks in Puke York City . .

Until recently, they owned CBS as well . . .

MSM is trying everything it can to try to save Dan Blather's self-destroyed legacy.

The man who will forever be known as the master of the "fake, but acurate" story.

Hollywood keeps saving the careers of Martin Sheen and Alec Baldwin, so I guess AOL will try to save Dan Blather from obscurity .

As if we needed another reason not to use the worst ISP on the face of the earth. Is this position the result of some bet between AOL execs to find out exactly HOW stupid their customers are??

Ah, OK. I heard on CNBC the other day that AOL had some "big announcement" coming in August, right on the heels of mulling over "free e-mail" to high speed internet subscribers.

Well, AOL Execs who are from Marin County, I believe(that is John Walker Lind Taliban country) have not done their customers any great service by farming the technical support crew from India, or should I say, to India .

That part I did hear about !

Basically, they are admitting they have serious problems with keeping their customers .

Well, it's well known that AOL sucks, but even so, they seem determined to push the envelope of suckiness.

As I noted at my first posting, they have an awful lot of subscribers and resources, so they can be arrogant with American customers, much like the Nuke York Media is contemptous of the rest of Our Country . .

A Little Side Information:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - --

AOL has been around since before 1978 I believe .

They were one of the first commerical computer networks to use the 'packet switching method' that was originally designed for the ARPANET went it went online in 1969 .

Personal Note: I first went 'online' back in the Summer of 1999 using AOL ver 2.5 on a HP 386SX computer with 16 megs of RAM(maximum) and a turbo clock speed of just 16MHz !
My hardrive was only 120MB and I was using Windows 3.1 and DOS 5.0 to get online . . . .

The New York Media is the Liberal-Left Camp

That includes ALL TV broadcast networks, most Cable TV networks, all of the national Newspapers, and most of the national magazines and periodicals !

Time Warner Expects Offering AOL Free Will Be Costly

By MATTHEW KARNITSCHNIG
July 11, 2006; Page B1

Time Warner Inc. expects its AOL unit to sacrifice nearly $1 billion of operating profit through 2009 under a proposed plan to offer the online service free of charge to some customers, according to internal company forecasts. The company, however, is also forecasting that growth in Internet ad revenue will partially offset the expected decline in subscription revenue and ultimately leave the company more profitable.

The new proposal would cut roughly in half profit from AOL's sale of Internet subscriptions in the U.S. in the next three years, the forecasts show, from $1.6 billion this year to about $800 million in 2009. According to the forecasts, AOL, which has 18.6 million U.S. subscribers now, would end up with just over six million by the end of 2009.

Maybe Dan should just go ope...uhh..TIE flies and fish.
Move over Dan, you were entertaining on occasion, even courageous while huffing n puffing through some adrenaline rush of true threat in Afghanistan back in '80 or so.
But Dannito, JUST GIVE IT UP!! Move Over less some poor soul becomes your clone and not improvement.
