I love Glenn Beck (I watch the CNN show all the time, though I have to admit to choosing Laura Ingraham on the radio about 85% of the time over Glenn).
I have heard on tsome of the Lib Blogs that the CNN show is a ratings disaster. Something like 78,000 to 100,000 viewers a night. I hope that's not true, but the fact that it doesn't show up on this list isn't encouaging. How can the third largest talk radio audience in America be ignoring their boy?

Lou Dobbs should get higher ratings as he's the only one covering the illegal immigration crisis.Maybe, just maybe, the public-at-large isn't so whipped up into a hysterical frenzy about illegal immigration, the way so many FReepers are.

You have to compare his show to what was on the channel at that time before and whether the audience is growing. Beck is doing well on both counts from what I have heard. It's a good show and will take some time to get a big following.

I wonder how Glenn Beck's show is doing on CNN Headline News I've just watched snippets of his show, but I've yet to see him discuss politics.

Well, they should be, IMHO. It's really a big problem. How does one address a big problem in a way that isn't labeled a 'frenzy?'
Just a question.
To: pollyannaish
Or perhaps most people are looking for an overall perspective and balance on many issues, not just that one. As significant a problem as illegal immigration is, the concern of the average American has been vastly overstated by those who can think of nothing else.I posted essentially the same thing, in post #25, before seeing yours. Yours, however, is a more articulate statement.

I'm not stating that the problem is trivial... I'm just tired of FReepers injecting the debate into nearly every single thread, as if it's the SOLE important topic out there.

Gee, Olberman is only a notch above Cosby's, now cancelled show.
To: mrsmith
hey matthews and olberman suck
MSNB HARDBALL WITH C. MATTHEWS MTWTF.. 06:00A -11:00P 0.3 260 299 100
MSNB COUNTDOWN W/ K. OLBERMANN MTWTF.. 06:00A -11:00P 0.3 243 286 106
plus everytime I see that 0.3 rating that means that less than 1% of the TVs turned on at that time were tuned into MSNBC, I just wish one time Bush would point that out to them when the keep talking about Bushes low poll numbers, just once i would like to hear Bush say something like "well chris my poll numbers might be at 40% but that is way higher than 0.3%"

Maybe not in NYC, don't speak for Arizona.

"well chris my poll numbers might be at 40% but that is way higher than 0.3%" Ouch!
(Though maybe it'd be more 'presidential' to let Tony Snow deliver that slap... )

It's really a big problem.. By grasping the reality that it is NOT a "Crisis" or "Really big prolem". It is merely one issue amoung dozens. It this Chicken Little Hysteria about it that pisses most Freeper off. This hysteria is part of the reason MOST Freepers simply tune out the Anti Illegal rantings. Threads on this topic are far to hysteric and emotional and pretty complete lack any calm serious thoughtful comentary.

I certainly don't, especially Olberman or Matthews. When I do spin past his program Olberman spends more time laughing at Fox news or O'Reilly than he does with real news.

The other thing that pisses a lot of us off is the way the Antis are willing to booth any supposedly "Conservative" principals they have to the curb as long as someone panders to their emotions on the Illegals.
Lou Dobbs is a case in point. He is a wack Leftist spewing utterly ridiculous neo Marxist class warfare tripe as "News". He is intellectually vacuous on economics and politics. BUT because he panders to the Antis on their one issue, he has become their god.
Dobbs is pure Big Govt Socialists. That he 10% of the time says what you WANT to hear should in NO way excuse the utter rot they spews from his mouth on the other 90%.
He is also a big liar. When he was called to account for his hyper partisanship, he claimed to "Be a Republican who wants to save his party" Utter and complete nonsense.
His every comment and rant shows him to be an utter big Goveremnt Socialists type

I try to tune in to Beck, but its conservatism lite.
I'm guessing he has restrictions from the Liberal CNN
head honchos.
I also ADORE Laura Ingram ..
She is better than Hannity IMHO
