Just think..... these dumba$$ RINO'S and DIMS really think THE RACE has any interest in melding into either party.......no, La Raza's only interest is creating their own party and they already have the media, financing, etc. in place and all they need is more #'s.
La Raza's only interest is creating their own party...
-----
They already have it -- and all the support they need from about half of the Congress, our "Mexican" President, from Fox, who wants to have heavy influence on American policy through the vote...its is totally sickening to America basically given away by Washington.
The leaders of La Raza aren't being honest about what they have said...they lie. Believe what you will in any event.
I can't compare the immigrants of yesteryear to the Illegals of today. The nightmare has been created because we have ignored the law, and so have the Illegals who broke it. Today, I have a greater respect for the ones who came to this country "the right way". It wasn't easy.
You want us to accept the fact that because they all do it, it must become legal, for there is strength in numbers? If we go down that road, prepare yourself for what is ahead.
No amnesty in any form is acceptable for the good of our Nation.

I have no desire to accept anything simply because it is forced upon me by strength of numbers. If anything, this makes me more resistant to it rather than less. My point about the current crop of illegals is less to suggest any kind of solution ( I wish I had a good one )than it is to suggest that the current immigration policy of the US is broken and needs to be repaired, and quickly.
The comparison to past waves of immigration is only pertinent in comparing the attitudes of nativists and immigrants in those periods to the attitudes of today, and they are very similar. History is a good guidepost for me if only to hope to learn from the mistakes so that I don't repeat them.
La Raza (apart from having a name which makes my skin crawl every time I read it) is much like any other organization. It is made up of individuals, each with their own agenda and purpose. Maybe it is naivete, but, I generally try to ascribe the best motive to the vast majority of people, and as such, I highly doubt whether there is a smoke filled back room where the La Raza folks sit around and plot the destruction of the American way of life. While I am sure that there are individuals and cliques within La Raza that think that way, the overwhelming number are simply folks that are trying to do their best for people who are like them in many ways.
Thanks for the complement, I think that you made your points very clear and concise, while I tend to ramble.
Drink that jalapeno koolaid.
It figures you live in Illinois. Move to southern California and see how long your foolishness survives the shock.
And your Know Nothing 'history' is amusing considering that the American Party, as the Know Nothings were known, was absorbed into the new Republican Party.
Your reply is not amusing as the new party did not move to enforce the demands of the Know Nothings (not strictly the members of the American Party, there were Know Nothings in all of the parties), namely the tightening of regularization laws which was most emphatically not embraced by the Republican leadership as they realized that they had bigger fish to fry as we do now.
As for So Cal, no thanks. My foolishness, as you so unjustly choose to fashion it, is not a product of isolation from the problem (I live in Chicago which has a huge Spanish population and I happen to be married to a second generation American of Mexican extraction), it is the product of careful thought and follows a period in which I was, if anything, as vociferous as many on this site in my comments desiring an end to Mexican immigration. It was only after a careful study of the FACTS that surround this issue, that I came to realize that these immigrants pose no greater threat to the American way of life than did the millions of immigrants to come to this country before them. I also saw that the immigration which has occured (albeit illegally) since the Reagan amnesty of '86 has actually been at least one sustaining factor in our economic success of the last twenty years. In addition, I also began to see that the reason so much of this immigration was ILLEGAL, as opposed to past immigrant waves, was due in large measure to the increased complexity of the immigration process and quotas from earlier generations.
This does not mean, by the way, that I am in favor of blanket amnesty, or that I excuse the illegals actions in border hopping. It does mean that I am not going to succumb to the pressure to foam at the mouth and rant whenever the subject of immigration reform is discussed by reasonable, intelligent human beings.
Sorry. I'm too used to the crowd that isn't joking.
You do a great job of foaming as it is.
No problemo.
