(The Palestinian terrorist regime is the crisis and Israel's fist is the answer.)
zyzzygy?
But, but doncha know that when the Libbies get their way we're gonna talk with telepathy? Or is that talc with telepathee...
Yes, and to sever us from more than 1,000 years of our language's history. People who can't spell correctly now won't do any better just because you change all of the rules. The Liberals' descent into barbarism continues...
Spelling and punctuation, and they've been doing it for a long time.
Reading the dumbed down illiterate version gave me a headache.
This is fine with me. It will make it easy to weed out potential employees by tossing their "rezamay" in the trash.
Hey, let's just push for Esperanto...
Usually, "simplified" best applies to those too lazy to learn. Learn the rules first, then decide if they're worth breaking, changing or "simplifying."
How would you know if a word were of French origin if the spellings were given these unrelated 'sound' spellings?
If they get this then the next step is to forget simplified spelling and go for 'just spell it like you think it sounds' method.
I've got a headache after reading this article.
Actually, this has been going on for centuries. The reason the English language has been so successful is that it adapts so easily to changes in the world we live in. We borrow words from other cultures, we invent new ones, we change spellings, definitions, etc. Seems kinda dumb though to try to institutionalize the idea. It's been happening without us making it into an organized project. French, by contrast, is losing ground precisely because the French have institutionalized the concept of static linguistic purity.
Doesn't know diddly about American history or the history of English as a language. Which if taught along with proper phonetic instruction instead of the pathetically incomplet bits currently taught dispells the confusion completely.
I don't actually object to simplified spellings per se. Only to ignoramuses trying to re-invent the wheel.
For those who want the best "The Writing Road to Reading" by Romalda Spalding will teach you all you need to know about English phonemes (sounds) and phonograms (spellings of sounds).
I have a saying-If you can't meet the standard, whine till they lower the standard to meet you.
I say it with contempt dripping from every word.
I say it again for the turds that are trying this
Yup. Definitely supports my old tag line: If it ain't broke, it hasn't been touched by liberals.
Those too stupid to learn to spell deserve the consequences. We don't need any more "dumbing down".
bttt...
What an idea! Reduce illiteracy by changing the definition of illiteracy! It's like legalizing robbery and then marvelling at the drop in the crime rate. Duuuhh!!
