Outside the box... ( Saddam was out )
**********************************AN EXCERPT ********************************
Many of those who argue that the U.S. did not need to take military action against Saddam Hussein claim that he posed no threat because he was "in his box." But the idea that an anti-American psychopath like Saddam would be content to reside in a box created by the U.S. is highly implausible and contrary to the evidence. Many of the things that Saddam did in the late 1990s and early 2000s (sending folks to Niger to talk about obtaining yellow-cake, establising contacts with al-Qaeda, subsidizing Palestinian terrorsts) can be viewed as an attempt to operate outside the box.
Now Fox News reports that "an Arab regime, possibly Iraq, supplied how-to manuals for Arab operatives working throughout Afghanistan before 9/11, and provided military assistance to the Taliban and Al Qaeda." Fox News bases this conclusion on "an apparent training manual unearthed in captured Iraqi government computer files."
weren't the documents that were translated captured notes of an iraqi officer?
Thanks. This important information (and justification for taking out the Butcher of Bhagdad) needs to be force-fed through the media. It has been commented on here and elsewhere that there is a lot that we haven't been told. I'm sure some of this, while maybe not definitively known at the time of the invasion, has been in back-channel rumors for years.
All right...we have some of the Left's early attempts at denial.
They center upon the author of the article, one blogger by the name of "Ray Robison".
Noteably, the government's clearing-house for the document is available from the linked articles.
Also noteably, the TRANSLATOR's name is "Sammi" and NOT "Ray Robison".
Good luck ladies & gents.
Saddam-AQ operational ties? - PING for later reading.
We have a resident translator also.
Do we really?
Can we ping that guy and get some verification of the translation from "Sammi" who now seems to be Robison's man?

Bump.
I too have searched diligently for any news about both the recent wmd announcements and the revelations of Husseins's ties to A-Q. Clearly Big Media does not want this Bush-vindicating news released.
So I still read letter-to-the-editors by frothing at the mouth libs who claim that "Saddam had no ties to Al-Qaeda" and "there were no wmds". I want to get on the horn and call those nuts and ask them to get out of their cave. But the problem is these people (and I have lib friends exactly like them) desperately want to believe in the evil Bush. If reality were to intrude on their senses, their heads might explode.

That isn't in my list, Ernest. I have a LOT of catching up to do with regard to translated documents and will try and find a few hours over the next week to add some of these important finds.
Thanks for the ping to this and remembering my intense interest in this matter.
Good points about how the left tries to shut down research and the truth about something that is uncomfortable to them.
