..."They are just DESPERATE to find something -- anything! -- to stop people from buying this book..."

And, most specifically, to keep Ann from writing another book. They cannot intimidate her. She knows their game.

I really don't care if she did refer to other articles, I read the book and it is very informative, where ever she got her information. Keep up the good work Annie. We love you.

They are using Ann's book to hype their software. Ann should ask for a share of the company - by suing them for slander.

Here is a cut and paste from one of your links. The author is absurd. How else does one write a list of scientific achievements, except by writing in scientific terms.

"Restore bone marrow in cancer patients (using stem cells from umbilical cord blood)," says the Website.

"Restoring bone marrow in cancer patients using stem cells from umbilical cord blood," Coulter writes.

You are exactly correct. A fact in an encyclopedia or otherwise "common knowledge" does not need attribution.

This list on page 197 of Godless, which Ann has in bullet point style is endnoted to an article by Michael Fumento, "Adult Stem Cells Provide New Life for Livers," Scripps Howard News Seervice, October 20, 2005. She does not mention Illinois Right to Life, but I bet Michael Fumento is not plagierizing from them either. Perhaps, they printed a copy of his article in their newsletter.

"Annie is to conservatism what Michael Moore is to liberalism... a source of nothing but embarrassment."

Looks like they booted your sorry liberal @$$.

Somehow I have a hard time imagining that she would think she could get away with something like this. Has she made a comment on the charges?

We're forgetting something. Can't authors and publishers make use of plagiary-detecting software BEFORE publication, as in fact-checking and spell-checking? This kind of software will ultimately benefit conservatives more than liberals, because we care more truthfulness and getting it right. Liberals only care about appearances.

Does Ann Coulter need a spanking?

That makes me all tingly inside.

But, you didn't albabspell it right: It's "Dos An Colter need a spaking?"

Energy Alley is to Free Republic what Zarqawi is to Iraq.... a smoldering crater.

With 281 pages -- at, say, 120 words a page -- there would be 33720 words. They are claiming 49 plagiarized words.

That is one-tenth of one percent.

The charge is ludicrus. I probably could be accused of plagiarism in this very post at that sort of threshold.

In fact, I can be.

In the age of the net and Lexis Nexis there are probably many authors getting called on plagiarism that would have not been caught before and probably a lot of these are careless mistakes and not deliberate acts.

Plagiarist.

But this of course is not about plagiarism. It's about finding a pretext, any pretext, for silencing Ann.

Over and over again, they have to go after her methods, since they can't argue against her words: Just how she uses those words.

Amazing how the left is forced to do just that: Look how they silenced Gary Aldrich.

Most humans learn by reading and listening to many individuals throughout our lifetime and are unaware that we are actually repeating what others have said or are quoting something that we have read or experienced through some other form of media!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Just another way to shut us up !!

Apparently, if someone else said it in the 2000+ years of world history we can not say it again !!!

S'cuse me while I barf !!!

New Ad Calls Katrina Dead "Another Casualty Of The War In Iraq"

BUSINESS LEADERS TO BUSH: "BRING THE TROOPS HOME, REBUILD AMERICA"

A new full page print ad signed by more than 100 CEO's and other business people calls Hurricane Katrina's toll of lost lives and property "another casualty of the war in Iraq." The ad, slated to run in tomorrow's New York Times, calls on the President to stop the loss of lives and resources in Iraq and redirect his efforts towards rebuilding America.

Business Leaders for Sensible Priorities, the ads sponsor, cites federal government failures due to wrong priorities: budget cuts that undermined hurricane protection projects around Lake Pontchartrain; flood prevention projects in New Orleans; the gutting of FEMA; and the absence of one half of Louisiana National Guardsmen who were serving in Iraq.

Signers include Ben Cohen, Co-Founder Ben & Jerry's, Alan E. Kligerman, CEO, Akpharma Inc., and Seth M. Glickenhaus, Senior Partner of Glickenhaus & Co.
