Yes, we all do. You can not pollute the air in a confined
space period. Why shouldn't this apply to cars?
"Forced smoke inhalation is un-american."
Remember that statement this weekend as you walk thru clouds of smoke eminating from BBQ grills. Of course, that could very well be at an event celebrating our FREEDOM.
"Kids have the right to breathe clean air."
I hope you deride the parents that bring children to these events, exposing them to the dangerous toxins of smoke. Would you support legislation that restricts any potentially dangerous toxin from being exposed to children?
No child has died from specifically inhaling cigarette smoke...period! End of story!
I bet that figure is the magical 400,000!
Cite two death certificates, please.
Cite ONE, JUST ONE!
Then children should not be allowed to live in Los Angeles and other cities with high air pollution. Right?
Cities with polluted air should be fined $100.00 per child for each day the children must suffer through brown air. /s
The list will soon be expanded to include the parents who feed their children red meat or, in Massachusetts, the deadly fluffernutter .
Another person trying to justify enclosed smoking issues with outside pollution. At least at the outside BBQ the child has the choice to stand upwind of the BBQ and theirfore avoiding all the smoke. Also outside, the smoke is diffused with regular air. Locked in a house or in a car, they do not have that choice.
Cars will soon be run on different fuels. Then it will be the factories that are polluting. Assuming that they haven't all moved overseas by then.
So because there is no direct case its ok? Why not stick a smoke filled bag over your kids head then? I bet they would like that. They probably wouldn't die if it wasn't on too tight. Would that make it ok?
Bravo Sierra! Forced smoke inhalation was the American way until 15-20 years ago.
I will remind you of that when they come for YOUR bad habits.
Meanwhile I am glad I never had kids, as they are now a tool of the govt to control peoples lives...
They are coming for you shortly. I just returned from your state and was amazed that there were no "smoking sections" in any of the restaurants.
That's what the Clean Air act is all about. You shouldn't have to legislate common sense. But....
That's putting it mildly, Cal.
"A recent study published by the Pediatrics journal confirmed that more children die of secondhand smoke exposure than all other accidental causes of injury and death combined," said Brendan Twohig of the American Heart Association.
I'd like to know the name of this journal (or is there some publication out there that is simply titled "Pediatrics"??).
while you're bringing up a pro-choice argument.. why is it that dems fights so hard for the right of the parent to kill their child before birth, up to and including partial birth, but once the child is out, they do everything they can to protect them?
on a seperate note, if they want to talk about harmful toxin inhalation, shouldn't they outlaw cities where the smog factor is too high?
"You can not pollute the air in a confined
space period."
Well, it should also apply to the childs room and to bathrooms. Let's eliminate all air pollutants from those areas as well. You up for that?
I wonder if it's ok for the parents to burn a flag in the car while the children are in there?
Oh, yeah...right...free speech
In other news, pot smokers are having fun watching all this come down. Welcome to the party!
You are so right. Sorry
