Bolton kicks ass. Something the U.N. isn't used to seeing. About time.

“People talk to him because he is at the center of the game,” explained the European diplomat with a mixture of wonder and exasperation. “He has succeeded in becoming the center of the story. He has become the most important person here, more important even than the Secretary General.”

"WHAAAAA! Another place that stinking USA dominates! Let's go back to watching soccer, that's more important than dumb old UN, anyway!"

That lack of tangible achievement so far has allowed Mr. Bolton’s domestic critics to impugn his methods as ineffective.

Having worked in a govt agency, I know how resistant to change they can be. I would imagine that the UN is that times 100. I'm in favor of moving Turtle Bay to Darfur as the simplest and most elegant solution to this problem.

I am a frequent critic of W. However, his withdrawal from the ABM treaty, Kyoto, the ICC, and his appointment of Bolton are wonderful. W. Bump.

The article unintentionally exposes the futility and utter worthlessness of "diplomacy" when the goal of the diplomats is to come to a consensus, any consensus, with no particular regard for the actual results or meaning of that consensus. All style, no substance. No wonder the Euroweenies are mystified when Bolton is actually trying to accomplish meaningful reform instead of merely going along for a meaningless ride...

Ha ha, that is great!

People who are up to no good (and that's an understatement) never like it when a straight-shooter shows up. And only libs would be so stupid to complain that Bolton puts the USA first. Duh, what do they think the Ambassadors of all the other nations are doing? Looking out for their own interests as well. Bolton just has the added benefit of not taking any sh!t from this group of corrupt glad-handers.

He doesn’t believe in the U.N.,”

And their first clue was??

Hmmm, I wonder, will the UN disappear like Tinkerbell if no-one believes in fairies anymore?

LOL, with it's membership of headchoppers, tyrants, dictators, murders, and commies, the UN is far from a "china shop".

"The primary school of thought, according to one diplomat,..."

That's a good description of the level of thought typical of the U.N.: "Primary School".

The UN is a backed-up cesspit, and Bolton is the Roto Rooter man. I too wish we could move these corrupt frauds over to Sudan or Siberia or somewhere and forget they exist.

"Diplomats at the United Nations have found U.S. Ambassador John Bolton’s behavior so inexplicable..."

"We'd gotten so used to the U.S. being represented by wussies who hate their own country as much as we do. It's just so confusing...and really, really hard for all of us!"
