Once again, I have to note that this is NOT about the assumed, or actual disability of Ms. Cox.
As a Maryland voter, who happens to be a conservative, IT'S ABOUT EHRLICH-could we please stay on the subject.
Ehrlich has just done the thing that Ann Colter was writing about in her book, he has nominated a person who cannot be questioned because of perceived PC-do you understand that?. Ehrlich is behind in the polls.
He is now in a probable pandering mode. He has just fired a guy for having the gall to say that homosexuals are "deviant", and the guy said that on an obscure cable channel in Montgomery County. The guy he fired, Mr. Smith, is a strong Catholic and makes no apologies for that. Ehrlich just ok'ed a "gay" judge when there were no doubt, better qualified people to assume that role.
Ehrlich has now become a poll-driven RINO and this nomination is a transparent and blatant attempt to appeal to a certain voter segment. It is not the first time that Ehrlich has done this, he did it with Mr. Steele, except the fact of the matter is that Steele is/was an excellent politician, very experienced and a stand-up guy.
While the lady in question is certainly most probably a fine person and worthy of admiration, this whole thing stinks to high heaven. Ehrlich was elected by the people he is currently irritating and he is doing it because he is desperate to get re-elected. In other words, he is dissing his base in more than one way to appeal to the knee-jerk moderates and democrats whom he feels, he needs to beat O'Malley.
Ehrlich has deserted those that elected him and is now in the process of pandering 24/7.
So, look at the politics and lose the knee-jerk reactions, because those of us who live here have to deal with this.

Dear alarm rider,
The thread did get off-topic, but frankly, I don't think it was so much about Ms. Cox as about the perception that disabled people are generally incompetent.
I don't disagree with your assessment of Mr. Ehrlich. Surely you've caught some of the commentary on the FR Maryland message board? For my unrelenting criticism of Mr. Ehrlich, I've been called a "liberal," "Son of MD4Bush," and a few other appellations.
But this thread's been relatively quiet, and few have offered much of a defense here of Mr. Ehrlich, so why pile on?.
If you want to go breathe fire, don't do it at me on this thread, go do it to all the Ehrlich defenders on the Maryland message board.

No one is breathing fire site, just a note of your comment and a lead in.
The Ehrlich thing needs to be looked at, he messed his own nest, and it pisses me off to no end.
It's politics, and he is playin it as such, but if he gets away with it, we all lose, no matter what your position.
