Just trim the kick-backs to organized crime, er, labor and that deficit will vanish.
47% of New Jersey voters didn't vote for Corzine. Do we deserve this too ?
of course if you mail order, you get free delivery and NO sales tax...

You should have worked just a little harder getting out the vote.
Absolutely dead on!!
Democrats cutting each other to shreds over which taxes to raise...since I don't live in Jersey this will be fun to watch!
Statewide New Jersey politics is governed by the cities (Newark, Jersey City, Paterson, New Brunswick, Trenton and Camden). Those cities have huge populations including large percentages of minorities who are completely loyal to and controlled by democrats.
Republican areas generally are the much less populated suburban and rural counties in the central, northwest and extreme southeast of the state. Not only are there fewer voters but getting them to the polls is much more difficult (in the cities, you have polling stations every few blocks in some of the rural areas your polling station might be 10 miles away).
Please don't lecture me on getting out the NJ vote. We try every election but you can't force people to the polls. Even this fall, you'll see some diehard NJ conservatives (including a few here on FR) stay home because the Republican candidate (Kean) is not conservative enough for them. Like little children, they'd rather stay home and pout because a so called RINO is running thus helping insure that democrat Menendez wins. I might not like Kean that much but you can be darned well sure that I'll get off my a*s, hold my nose and vote Republican at least for a small change in NJ & Washington government.
Even Forrester managed to shoot himself in the foot on a few occasions. A Republican would need to run a close to perfect campaign to win statewide office in NJ - the inner cities are just too much to overcome.
Example - my district is almost 80% Monmouth County, a strong Republican area. However, we also have Perth Amboy and Iselin, larger cities in Middlesex County. Who is our Congressman? Frank Pallone (D-Extreme Left). It's not a question of getting out the vote - there aren't enough votes to get out.
I just keeps getting worse and worse for those smart voters, doesn't it?
You're still living in New Jersey, aren't you? I left NY in '76 and never looked back. They don't pick my pockets anymore.
