What is the legal justification for such an act by Israel?

You've got to be kidding, right?

1. Syria is technically at war with Israel as their 1967 attack on Israel resulted only in a cease fire.

2. Syria harbors a Hamas leader who is responsible for numerous attacks on Israel.

3. Syria continues to support terror organizations and terrorist attacks on Israel

In my view Israel has every right to not only buzz Syria but mount an full scale air attack on them. The government of Syria in effect is involved not only in sponsoring attacks but aiding in the planning of and execution of attacks on a sovereign nation.

I can't believe Israel hasn't acted more aggressively than they have.

If Syria doesn't want trouble maybe they should stop their warlike activities.

If Mexico harbored terrorists and supported their terror activities into the United States do you really believe that there is no legal justification to respond forcefully?

Common now, give me a break

But the F-4 can take more hits than the F-16 and two engines are always better than one.

In Syria? I know they do it over Lebanon all the time, but inside Syrian airspace, esp over the home of the President of the country?

Maybe the President of Syria should understand that you can't harbor terrorist leadership, aid in the planning of attacks on a neighboring nation or constantly provoke your neighbor without consequences. I'm surprised Israel has been so patient. It's time to force Assad's hand and have it out. Israel can't continue to live amonst neighbors bent on their destruction as is Syria.

I say bomb a military target inside of Syria and warn that further military action will come if they continue to support terrorist act against Israel

As with most things, it all depends on the mission. I'm not familiar with the F4-2000, but I'm pretty familiar with the F4 airframe. I suspect that the F4 can carry far more heavy ordnance. On a mission such as this though, the ramifications of being shot down would probably be very great. I suspect maneuverability would be a huge asset, especially if you may have to dodge a SAM or two or play cat and mouse with a MIG-29.
Just a guess, and surely not hammering the F4, just being an armchair General for an afternoon. LOL!

Where's the problem of Syria helping?

Do you are glad they are?

Why do you ask me that? I never complained about Syria helping. In fact it is good to see that some of the Syrian Terrorists will be taken out too.

What's the problem with Iran and Syria helping fight against the Iraqi Troops and our Troops in Iraq?

You alright with that too?

After all the crap for so many years, what is making Israel go so berzerk?

Because the world has been telling Israel for so many years that their reaction to this terror is a barrier to negotiations to peace and that they need to stand down and take it. Every time they defend themselves the world press is up in arms over the Israeli aggression. This has to stop and Israel is now in a more favorable political position to respond to terror.

The elected government, Hamas, was elected by the palestinians and that elected government chose to continue what is now considered state sponsored terror. Israel has every right to terminate the entire leadership of Hamas in my view and should do just that. If this elected leadership wants war then so it will happen.

This is different than an Israeli response during peace negotiations. Hamas makes no secret that it wants Israel destroyed. It's in their charter and they are now fair game to be destroyed themselves. Israel, in it's departure from Gaza, played it's hand at cooperation by giving back land and what is the response? Rocket attacks and terror attacks. Screw them!!!

Wonder if Assad is on the phone right now with some of his Generals wondering what the

Or more probable he's on the phone to the French, Chinese and Russians screaming about defective hardware.

Israel takes out the terrorist staging areas in Syria across the border from Iraq, and we take out the Iranian nuke sites.

Yes, perfect time for a total wipeout of both countries.
I think it'd also give that midget in North Korea a hint at what's next.

"Israel has every right to terminate the entire leadership of Hamas in my view and should do just that. If this elected leadership wants war then so it will happen."

I really hope they are on the verge of doing exactly that, but I won't hold my breath. Israel really needs to obliterate all of Hamas, Fatah, PFLP, Al Aqsa "Martyrs" Brigades, etc. etc. Whether they will really do what needs to be done this time, at last, remains to be seen........ but anything less will just be pinprick tactics. I know, it's easy to say it here thousands of miles away from the terror cesspool (well, we DO have the NY Times, et al). Still, anything less than drastic measures simply cannot accomplish anything. It would be like a surgeon taking out one tiny tumor while there are numerous more significant malignant tumors left alone..........

It seems the Iranians are determined to start a conflict in the middle east.

I've long believed that a full fledged middle east war is inevitable and probably desirable before Iran and Syria are even better prepared.

The only thing holding it up is our gutless leaders and a population not willing to sacrifice ANYTHING anytime anywhere in the quest for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We need to prepare ourselves for an all out conflict. History has already been forgotten or spun and it'll take another massive conflict to shock people into taking a stand. I'm convinced that only a well placed massive attack on our nation is not only possible but it is the only way to shock us into action and therefore desirable in the larger scheme. We're sure as heck not going to make much headway fighting a million individual battles, all individually financed by Iran and Syria.

What is truly sad about American politics today is that this support from an opposition party will never happen until we experience an enormous and truly catistropic attack. Sad, Sad, Sad
