Good morning, all. What a pleasant way to start off my day! I'd say it's quite obvious Mr. Murtha has become alarmed - either due to some internal polling (as guessed above) and/or because they have a hint as to Ms. Irey's upcoming FEC fundraising report.
Which brings me to the main point. If you have been considering donating to Diana Irey but have not yet, please do so now. A couple of thoughts- Murtha's staff must be completely deaf, uninformed or inept. It took them over two weeks to attempt to correct his Okinawa faux pas. That's encouraging!
Also- I am waiting..tap-tap...waiting...for some fearless reporter to ask him directly just what he said to the New York Times about publishing the SWIFT banking story. Reading the transcript of the interview betwee Bill Keller and Wolf Blitzer it is still unclear- though it is apparent that he did express his opinion to the Times...

Don't believe what your lying ears say they heard Murtha say. What your ears heard was distorted when Murtha farted during his rant.
The release of methane from both ends is confusing as well. Making Murtha a complicated critter to comprehend.

So Murtha used a poll to bash the US--but he doesn't the poll? Nowhere in his "misquotation" statement does he say that the US is NOT a danger to world peace. Murtha's complete lack of integrity and core beliefs is the real problem--and the reason voters should retire him.
