I don't know why you make it personal, it`s about concepts and perceptions. Going to church is actually not about "being perfect".

I mentioned Rush because he is a public figure and he invites discussion. But it isn't a matter of Rush not being perfect.

I have never met a perfect person in my life and had not claimed to, including myself.

Perhaps your definition of "conservative" and others' definition of "conservative" are different. I welcome people who don't spend Sundays in church and don't have families to sit with in said church to join the conservative political movement, assuming they agree with the logic of certain key principles (e.g., smaller government-- from which everything else flows).

There is a difference between living a socially conservative life (which plenty of political "liberals" do) and being politically conservative. You seem to have the two confused.

Rush constantly refers to himself as a conservative. And my post had nothing to do with being "perfect" or faulting Rush other than saying he is misguided about what a conservative really is. I never said Rush was a bad man just that he is not a conservative, he is at most a Republican and I don't see that as being a bad thing.

What I am saying is that the Ten Commandments have to actually mean something to you to be a conservative.

If what you display is a general disregard for such beliefs such as flying around divorced and with viagra (why not at least get remarried?) and habitually play golf on Sunday rather then ever sit inside a church, then to me that is not a conservative that's a Republican. And that is not an insult, and people that go to church are not perfect.
