I have long felt that as bad as the senate bill is for all Americans it really shafts blacks. Illegals are depressing wages on low skilled jobs that nmany blacks have.

"While most civil-rights leaders, including Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, support illegal aliens and amnesty, many African-Americans believe they do so as partisan Democrats and not in the best interests of blacks in America." First paragraph says it all..."nail it them!"

If and when illegals are legalized, they will recieve the benefit of wage and hour laws. If their current pay is depressing wages, once illegals are citizens, they will have to be paid in accordance with the law.
We will still need illegal workers who will be able to be paid unlawfully low wages - if they are to do the "jobs American just won't do."

But if they were stopped and deported wages would go up. There is no such thing as a job Americans will not do, just jobs Americans will not do for low wages and no benefits.

I do wish we weren't being lied to about the number here. 12 million is way too low, try close to 30 million and you would be a whole lot closer to the truth.

I do not know if anyone noticed, but jesse jackson approves of the illegal immigrants when it states that in this thread. I thought here was there for the advancement of black people. /sarc
But I guarantee that this info will not get out to the public and once again people will want him to come and help them in their dire need. He needs to be exposed as the racist scum that he is. He is not for the advancement of his own people. He is there for his political and financial gain only and nothing else.
Wait, I know this, you all know this, why am I wasting my breath?

It does. Couple low education rates with high incarceration rates and a historical bias against them...and they truly get the short end of the stick.

I may be cynical but the reason they do is that they lose their power if the masses of black folk rise up. Illegals help to depress wages and that helps to keep people down and keep Jesse up.

Bush needs to look to see who his bedfellows are on this issue. He's in league with the Kennedy's and the Jacksons of this world. That ought to tell him something about his stance.

Amen on the "jobs Americans won't do" B$. It reminds me of the WH saying no one else wanted the SCOTUS nomination except Meirs. Complete horse shite'!

Ooooh! I love it when people (of any skin color) smarten up and throw off the chains. You can hear those Demon-rat manacles clanking to the floor empty!
