When did "all-inclusive" become superior to leaders and visionaries?
Find an architect, a trusted philosopher, and let them WORK. Screw this "try to please everyone" crap.

What I don't get is why they can't design a memorial using classical architecture. Most people, whether American or not, love the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and other similarly-designed monuments. No one is going to be awe-inspired by this design.

None of this will ever be built. Too many jerks appeasing the appeasers. It's a Catch-22 cluster fukc.

(Graham Chapman as "The Brigadier")
"Right. Just clear out the rubble, square off the pits, refill the lot with topsoil, plant some trees, and we're off. Oh! And add a two-story visitor education center to inform the citizens on the critical difference between "north" and "south."
...And a nice, lemon yellow, 3m guard-rail to keep the sots from falling in will spare us a few headaches in the long run, I'm sure, but that's just a personal suggestion."

The proper response was to rebuild the WTC, just like we rebuilt the Pentagon.
Any other response is a monument to The Liberal Doctrine of Infallibility - victims built this pathetic monstronsity.
Ann Coulter, you are a political genius, and I appreciate you greatly.

Islam will come to the site to celebrate the emasculated response.
Like Clinton's Somalia, this will be a rallying inspiration to America's enemies.
Liberal MORONS!

It would have been a really powerful demonstration to
REBUILDT the WTC. As a architekt I have to say that the design of the World Trade Center was not up-to-date anymore, but it is such a strong symbol of freedom, that it would be worth doing it. The building should have been combined with a small memorial place in the first floor.
Those voluminous memorials in combination with the Libeskind tower are just symbols of weak impotence to me. We do not help the victims if we install a political correct rememberance industry around the place they had to die. The best and the most American way (I say that as a European) to remember them is to continue their work and their aims. Whining is excactly was Mohammed Atta, Bin Laden and all those other crooks wanted. Do not do them this favor.

Heard one victim family member bemoaning the fact that she wanted the memorial underground so families could have 'privacy'.
Is there no end to their demands!

Two separate conversations. I asked my daughter if she would work in a newly built WTC. Yes, absolutely I would work in that building. Then I asked her how she would like it if her dad or brother was working in that building. NO, absolutely not.
Asked my husband if he'd work in that building. Yes, absolutely.
How would he like it if his son or daughter worked in that building. NO, absolutely not.

The Normandy invasion museum doesn't talk about WW2 but instead crazy peace crap, even Father Christmas? Bloody hell! That's daft!
