"The "yoon-yun" members get what they deserve. In New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, the vote Democrat to the man/woman.
Just because some of them fly the American flag from their house or go hunting doesn't mean that they aren't staunch supporters of the "evil" party. F-ck 'em!"
I can sympathize with your feelings. However, I do have hopes that we can bring a large number of rank-and-file Democrats in with us on this immigration issue.
The problem is---we have no built-in way to communicate with these people. It is the Republican conservatives who are supporting the rights all of workers in general here, especially people without great wages, which many Democrats are. While we are not pro-union, per se, we are working here to help union workers. The alliance between Big business Republicans and Democrats is doing nothing for these people, in regards to immigration.
Kinda sorta exactly the way mafia protection treats the Ma and Pa businesses they are "protecting".
Born in West Orange, New Jersey, Stern was a student leftist in the 1960s. He earned a B.A. in education and urban planning from the University of Pennsylvania . Stern began his career as a social worker and SEIU member in 1973, eventually being elected president of his Pennsylvania local. In 1980, he was elected to the union's executive board, and in 1984 then-president Sweeney put him in charge of its organizing efforts.
Stern has also embraced political organizing via the Internet in the wake of the Howard Dean campaign, which his union endorsed; he has started his own blog as well as founding Purple Ocean, an online membership organization affiliated with the SEIU. In fall of 2005, he launched an online contest called Since Sliced Bread that claims to award $100,000 for the best new economic idea in America.
Since May 2005 he has been a contributing blogger at The Huffington Post.
Thanks.

Not even a real union, as we used to thinking of it. Guy works for the government.

"Hey! The Teamsters supported Reagan... BIGTIME!!!"
True. This is the kind of thing we need.
