My brother-in-law was at the vets meeting at her campaign office this morning. I talked to him earlier and he told me Mrs. Irey was in Johnstown "ringing doorbells" and meeting the folk today. I know for a fact she did this when she ran for Washington County Commissioner,I met her on the sidewalk in Charleroi,PA. The locals liked her and she got voted in.

Murtha can be beaten. Murtha has held his seat 32 years as a "hawk" and supporter of military by way of powerful armed services committee. He has done a 180. He is also getting a bit too old for office (born this date 6/17 in 1932 - age 74). His challenger Diana Irey is fresh, young, attractive, is holding local office and held a state appointment by Gov. Ridge. (see http://www.irey.com>. The ONLY thing she needs is money in order to get her message and name out. This is the district where Scott Beemer and his fellow airliner passengers waged the first battle of the WOT. These people are Reagan democrats and R's.
He opposes abortion and is pro gun but was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Abscam scandal, getting off because he snitched out his buddies. He thinks he is now snitching out heroic Marines. He helped McCain abolish "torture". (Zarkawi apparently didn't get the memo).
