"
As to why it was pulled from breaking news, my guess is that someone had already posted an earlier version of the story. "
That may be, but it is still news, and is still breaking, and it is nowhere to be found in the sidebar...

The general said specifically- names of the MIA would not be released pending notification of NOK...so that tells us they are ours...
Prayers continuing..

Had an earlier version been listed under "breaking news" I would not have posted this one. Couldn't find word of it anywhere.
These Soldiers need our prayers!!!!

There have been at least 4 threads about this since last night- but they're hard to find...don't know why.
I hate the lack of info...lot of soldier's families going through hell right now wondering...

Thanks for the info. I couldn't find it anywhere. I don't get why it is not under breaking news when our soldiers need our prayers.

I agree about the prayer.
So far as sidebars are concerned, it doesn't matter where it's posted on a sidebar. Once it's posted, it's no longer breaking news. After about a day, it's no longer frontpage news.
That's about as close to the rules as I've been able to figure out over time.
Maybe admin can point us to a link where these things have been summarized.

Sincerest of prayers sent out for our two Soldiers. May they come to no harm. May they prevail over their enemies and may God grant them a safe return to their unit and, finally, to their families.

Slightly off topic, I am very puzzled why this was pulled from Breaking News.I'm puzzled too, as there's no record of its removal. Added to breaking news.
Joining all in prayers for the safety of these soldiers.
