When does perkie katie start? I looked for her last night but didn't find her.

The sooner they drive that additional nail into the coffin, the better.

AminSing, the bottom line is; he can't. It is impossible for a liberal to go away, because for an empowered/empowering Master of the Universe (formerly!) such as a Dan Rather, it is always about the Power.

I think of everyone I've read; Sowell, Burke, VDH, Steyn, Hewitt, the Powerline guys, Hoffer, Hayek, John Ray of Dissecting Leftism -- every single one of these outstanding minds describe this peculiar and singular quirk that is the nihilist leftist highest and holiest desire.

Rather cut his teeth reinforcing the lies that moved a leftist Congress - then drunkenly empowered with the self-anointed rage of having brought down a "criminal" President, said scourge also having danny-boy's hands on it - to betray our commitments to South Vietnam, leading to that nations downfall and millions of deaths at the hands of the totalitarian scum that could not defeat us in battle.

He was an icon for liberal infallibility, presumed superiority, and a slap-in-the-face to conservative values for every day that he sat on his self-anointed throne, deigning to define the "things that America should be thinking and talking about" to the rest of us hayseeds.

He was the king of what Gramsci called the all-important control of the media, wherein that prison-bound Italian communist described the "march through the institutions" that would be necessary to erode the pillars upon which a freedom loving people base their culture (control the schools and unions and media - re-define & steal the meaning of the language - constantly repeat the revolutionary mantra, always chipping at the status quo such as family, religion, rule-of-law, property rights, ever stressing the new "political correctness" through the media).

He sat upon his throne and imagined himself - if not God-like, then at least Walter Cronkite-like - for his ability to "move" the American people. So powerful did he imagine himself to be, so protected in his lies by the pyramid of lesser deities that comprise the rest of the MSM and whom repeated his Big Lie -- for that is what they do, you know, they constantly repeat their lies until the truth is literally drowned out -- that he thought his National Guard Memo defense: "... they have not been proved to be false... " would carry the day.

he was wrong.

Buckhead, you were the first. You spotted the rupture in this scumbag's Matrix world of illusion and peeled the veneer enough to peek further and allow other American Patriots to charge into the Breech behind you. They tried ridiculing your initiative into another still-born "forlorn hope"... tried even to scare you by uncovering your true identity and impugning you with the old "partisan LIES" branding... and they all failed miserably. You stood fast and firm against it all.

Bravo Zulu, Buckhead - if our conservative efforts to take back our country can be described as a culture war, then your humble action deserves a Silver Star for having started the team effort that took out the rats-nest that was Dan Rather.

Nope, Am/Sing, Rather won't go away - it takes a MacArthur to do something humble like that. Rather's demons will consume him - and like another posted here on the thread, will end with a "FAKE BUT ACCURATE" label on his headstone -- a truly fitting description for his poison.

The posting did in fact change the world--we might all be speaking french. Unfortunately, the ACLU doesn't think an attempt to swing a national election by fraudulent means in the most powerful nation on the planet deserves prosecution.

Not to mention the outcome of the war would have been dramatically different. The old media monopoly was the most powerful ally the VC had.

Among the places he had sought solace, he said on a recent afternoon, was in "Good Night, and Good Luck," George Clooney's homage to Edward R. Murrow and the CBS News of old, a film that Mr. Rather said he had seen five times in theaters, most recently alone.

Downright freakish.

Rather is weird. I don't know what it is about him but he's a very peculiar person. How many news anchors do you know babble limericks and analogies all the time? Or end their newscasts with a single word? The guy clearly is missing a few parts upstairs.

WE NEED TO SEE THOSE MEMOS AGAIN!
They are not in the style that we used when I came in to the USAF. They looked like the style and format we started using about 12 years ago (1992). Our signature blocks were left justified, now they are rigth of center...like the ones they just showed.

Can we get a copy of those memos?

He has a daughter who lives in Texas and she is very involved in the Democrat party down there.

Shocking, I know.

Perhaps supermarket openings are in his future...

Do commercials for 'Spam' perhaps. . .

Or. . .perhaps C-span could use him as a 'guest host'. . .on morning call-ins. . .
