It's the nature of kids to label someone as an outsider and then gang up on him. Kids run in packs, want to be on the inside and to prove that they are insiders by getting together and beating up outsiders. Otherwise, they're afraid of being ousted from the pack themselves.
Basically, they have gotten the message from their parents, their teachers, their newspapers, and their school buddies, that the Parker kid is an outsider who needs to be beaten up.
It's as simple as that. And since the school refuses to punish them for doing it, obviously it will only reinforce the message.
who is this meg soens? she sounds hateful. FULL OF HATE.
Yep...in Massachusetts, "health" curriculum that covers homosexuality is mandated down to Kindergarten. Parker objected to a book about gay relationships last year, the school board says that, since gay marriage is legal, they don't have to notify him if they talk about it, and they consequently arrested him when he refused to leave the school grounds under those terms.
This gay indoctrination is nothing but liberals injecting themselves to brainwash a new majority for them at the ballot box. It's just that simple. Somehow, we are to believe that God and prayer and the Bible is inappropriate for six year olds and other aged children, but this, THIS, homosexual information, somehow THIS is appropriate, and they can handle that. THAT is nazi liberal swill.
> Is it possible he was beat up for other reasons? I don't see kindergardeners getting so upset over an issue they have no concept of understanding or caring about at that age.
Absolutely. The article was very speculative.
I live near Lexington, and if Mr. Parker lurks in FR, PM me, sir, and I'll give you the name of an excellent Karate school where your son can learn to defend himself.
NOW you get beaten up for NOT supporting homosexuals? What's happened to public school education?
"What if it had been a "gay" child who had been beaten, or even taunted? Across Massachusetts children are routinely suspended from school for even using the term "gay" in a less than positive fashion."(bold emphasis mine)
So if you call someone gay you are suspended. But if you beat up a child for not being progay you get a little class.
Sounds like a huge double standard to me.
Is this a hate crime?
Do you have children?
School Climate and School Safety
Increasing attention is being paid to the vital role that schools play in developing character and civility, and in establishing a climate that is conducive to high-quality teaching and learning.
In that regard, I am asking school leaders to review and, where necessary, revise school discipline codes and student handbooks to be sure they communicate this mission and reflect legal requirements and responsibilities.
School councils should be engaged in this review at least once each year, typically in the spring. To assist you, the Department of Education will be publishing a guide to reviewing student handbooks later this year. Also, before the end of the school year I will be proposing that the Board amend and update the regulations protecting public school students against discrimination based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin or sexual orientation.
Creating safe and supportive school communities for all students is one of the building blocks of education reform. (except it didn't keep this child of traditional parents safe)
Also, this is a reminder that all public and private school educators are invited to attend a conference on character education with Governor Paul Cellucci and me in Worcester on December 1st. I have enclosed a copy of the invitation, and encourage you to send a team to this event.
Maybe the govenor needs a reminder to keep all children safe regardless oftheir parents affliation.
I went to the Foxnews site and sent this little tidbit hate crime in on the newstip screen--on the right on Foxnews home page.
Every FReeper needs to pass this on and deluge Rush and Hannity and others with this so they can help this family and get the new media behind them and crush that liberal nazi school district.
Not that it should matter when considering the immorality of this issue and how this nazi school district is handeling it, but yes, I do, two. Why should that matter? This school district BROKE THE LAW!
Why are they even teaching "Gay Related Classes" to begin with? What does that have to do with reading, writing and math? I hope the school system loses the lawsuit. I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting a child excused from class where the topic is Gay related.

Have the Globe or the Herald reported on this?
As parents, our first job is to protect our children from society ~
our second job is to protect society from our children.
Imo, this little boy is being used by his father.
The father was right to protest gay indoctrination, but when it escalated to violence, he shouldn't have kept his son in that horrid place, even if it meant moving.
This story is a prime example of the foothold achieved by legalizing gay marriage.
Some people don't have a choice if they want to keep working to pay the bills and want their child to get an education.
I'm a little apprehensive since my son starts Kindergarten this September. I haven't heard of any "homo" related reading material and other gay propaganda being taught in my township but still, I'm slightly worried about what they will try to indoctrinate him with.
As of right now, my only plan that seems viable is to uneducate him on anything that I find they should not have educated him on.
