"Does the writer think that these things would have happened without Bush?"

Exactly!
How can President Bush "attempt to associate himself" with something that he started, and has continued to execute with resolve , despite constant attacks from the same lame brain media?
That's like telling me I am "attempting to associate myself" with my own job that I do every day.

"Let me know when the number of innocent civilians killed approaches the roughly 300,000 (or was the number more like 500,000?) Saddam et al killed during their reign of terror."

Saddam's murder totals were more like 3.5 to 4 million. don't just count his own people he tortured, raped and killed. He also killed Kuwaiti's and Iranians on a regular basis. But, leftist moon bats say he was a good man. John Kerry will probably call him a statesman, and put him on a pedestal along with others he called statesmen, like Arafat.

I was called by a pollster once too.

I answered the questions, including the last one that was supposed to determine my race.

Problem is, the question only wanted to know if I was Hawaiian, which I'm not. The assumption being that the answers to the other questions would indicate that I must be white, anglo-saxon, protestant... Which I'm not, mostly... except for the protestant part.

But if they wanted an accurate poll and wanted to include racial/ethnic data - they should've found out what my race was, rather than determine what I am not. Besides, the poll questions were decidedly difficult to answer, and I chose to answer the questions in the negative rather than allow them to spin a partial assent as supportive of their position. Even though the answers I ended up giving made me sound like a redneck, slave owning, wife beating, WASP, which I'm not. But that was the intent of the poll, and being supposedly anonymous, I figured the answers wouldn't revisit me, and if they did - I could point out that the questions were biased and there was no way for me to answer with my real views.

"The anti-American Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr planned a demonstration for Wednesday to protest Bush's presence in the country."

O.K., time to load up another 500 lb. bomb.

Most papers are simply political organizations masquerading as journalists.

There isn't much reason to take them seriously once you realize they are just DNC flacks.

George W. Bush is the only President to land Air Force One in Iraq and he did it twice.

Our disapproval notwithstanding this crap sells. It doesn't matter how sickly the lies are told or that most see through them. They are saying exactly what they want to say and are successful in their purpose.

"In fact, nothing has been achieved in Iraq, hundreds of innocent Iraqis are being killed daily because of the chaos," Selim said."

???

Let's all jump in the wayback machine and go back in time a few years--is this person saying things are worse now that Saddam is out of power?

Blatantly drinking some Arabic kool-aid, Selim?

It was a daring *stunt*. I'm not going to shy away from taking pride in our President's bravado in reaching Baghdad International in a low-flying copter, to personally touch his military men and women, as well as the new Iraqi leaders.

...President Bush's visit to Baghdad on Tuesday as merely an attempt to associate himself with positive developments in Iraq - formation of the new government and last week's killing of the country's most feared terrorist.

Oh I see, Kerry should get the credit instead?

I usually hang up, but not before telling them what I think of polls rigged to provide a predetermined outcome.

I know, they are mostly just morons working for a telephone soliciting service. Except for some who call looking for donations to enviro-mental-ist causes. I've gotten into a few good arguments with some of them.

The beauty of those is that you can call back and speak to their "supervisor about how rude they were 9after you provoke them)
