Well, I think it is time for me to scratch this guy off my list once and for all. I am a cat person, among other things. Frist needs to be de-clawed.

What's the problem?
Medical schools teach using all sorts of animals.
Doctors practicing on cats is good sense.
It's not like he kicked a dog.

Not that I am a big Frist backer, but this post seems a powerful argument against universal suffrage.

I think Frist's rubber backbone on illegal immigration is a far bigger impediment than offing a few cats.

I'm a cat person, but frankly, the wackos who make an issue about this kind of thing give me the willies.
On the other hand, I think that it was completely bone-headed for Frist to admit he'd done this in any event, and that seems to be consistent with a lot of other bone-headed things he's done. I certainly don't want him to be President.
It's a little surprising to me that he was smart enough to become a doctor.

Don't you think it a tad odd to be killing your own pets to do experiments on? I think the guy has a screw loose myself.

It takes a man with a rather callous personality to treat a cat as a pet, then do research on it that will end in its death.
But, Frist won't get far enough in the primaries for this to even be an issue.

No, of course Frist won't. But the article jolted me frankly. I just can't imagine anyone doing that to their pets!

t's not like he kicked a dog.I read a story recently (no, I can't source it) that claimed that more U.S. households had cats than had dogs.
My personal impression of Frist is that he is a pussy. How apropos that his candidacy could get derailed by a bunch of cat owners.

We dissected cats in highschool. How many of those cats were the student's family pets?

"Frist needs to be de-clawed."
Nonsense. He never had claws or balls in his life.
The guy runs on goinalong-to-gitalong.
To: sinkspur
Good. I hope he has a callous side. First, the man seems far from cold. He is a rather nice guy. But he did what he had to for the sake of medical research to save lives. I just hope that would equal being up to killing some international scoundrels in order to save American lives.
The left has everyone's values so twisted that you would actually consider rejecting a heart surgeon because he performed medical research. Good God!

Don't you think it a tad odd to be killing your own pets I'm in the process of trying to tame a new kitten. So no, it's not unusual at all to kill your own cats. I think it's amazing any of them live to adulthood. (as I wipe the blood from the keyboard and my shredded hands.)

Discipline in an animal lab is pretty well established and very rigid. If there is a research reason to pet the animals, its done and ends up in a lab book. If not, be prepared to get fired. I worked in a research lab in college and I guaranty that a grad student that would operate on his own pet from home would have been regarded as a nutcase without hope.

Running for president requires candidates to dump out their underwear drawer for all to see, answer questions about what color eye shadow their prom date wore, and explain any cross word ever said to their dry cleaner. Unless you're running as the democratic nominee.
