MAKE NO MISTAKE. The furious reaction to Coulter in this latest episode is not about her manners but her willingness to, as liberals love to say, "speak truth to power" -- the power of the once mighty liberal establishment.

And that's the crux of the problem, isn't it? The fact that Ann cuts through the Liberal BS and exposes their old game of hiding behind victims to spew their liberal agenda without having to debate, and by the same token, avoid any criticism due to the certainty that people are too timid to say anything against the victims for fear of being branded insensitive or heartless.

More than anything, as this article points out - piece by piece, trench by trench, the empire that was once American liberalism is under assault by men and women of all ages, incomes, faiths, races and professions – and the insults and vicious criticism Ann is enduring is the result of the Left being exposed by people like Ann. Thus their manipulation and power over others is weakening day by day.

I'm glad we're able to see through their manipulation and don't fall for their victimhood game and name-calling, but look for substance without automatic acceptance of the Liberal victims' agenda without debating the issues.

Thanks for the ping - this is a fantastic article that really nails it.

Liberals have several strange habits - most notable is that they tend to be absolutely astonished if someone dares to disagree with them. I recall many times at undergrad at my very leftist alma mater how they simply could not cope with a person looking at the same facts as they did could possibly come to a different conclusion.

These are the same types, of course, who love to remind you (and indeed, remind themselves) how open minded and intelligent they are. It's strange. It's not a mature worldview. That comes to no surprise to us at FR.

Liberals are increasingly cracking up. Their golden boy Al Gore lost in 2000 and that genuinely seemed to crack them up. They haven't recovered. They are so convinced of their own superiority and intelligence, yet their chronic losses nationally threaten that. They won't cope well with losses in 2006.

They love victimhood. They feed off it. Indeed, they have to. Liberals basically backed the wrong horses decades ago and have too much invested in the USA faltering (in any endeavor). That basic message is unpalatable to most Americans, in the end.

Well said.

It's funny indeed to see how Liberals love to dish it out but can't take it. Ann's book is a great opportunity for us conservatives to really enjoy their machinations and their spins at work – a real work of art I must add.

And every time Ann publishes a book, it becomes #1. This one is no exception.

Rush started (I believe)the term "drive by media". I call Liberals the "drive by Liberals" because they toss out insults and lies and move on. Mostly because they can't win an argument in morals or facts with any conservative. They don't know the meaning of Logic either but they know how to call names.

No matter how hard they try, liberals will never be able to put it back together again. The venom spewed at Ann Coulter's demand to liberals to stop hiding behind grief or war records or illness in a debate is not really about Ann Coulter at all. It is one very influential section of American society realizing that their world, the world they created and ran for most of the twentieth century, is dying in front of their eyes.

Great stuff...

Years ago, back in the 1960's, my parents would host parties at the house. Often dad, who was an ardent conservative, would get into discussions with guests on the politics of the day. Often the guests, after being given opposing and logical viewpoints from my father, would get into sputtering, maddening insults directed at my father, which would never address the subject being discussed.

As I watched these take place there were two things that would always amaze me. The first would be that my father could articulate, without ever insulting personally, the arguments that would rip the liberal viewpoint to shreds. The second being that the guests would insult the host who was giving the party. I have never forgotten that, and I see that it hasn't changed in over 40 years.

I also remember vividly encountering a pro-choice booth while in college, back in the 80's. I asked a couple of pointed questions, and the student behind the booth said, rather sarcastically, "You must be one of those pro-life people." I responded back, "So that would make you pro-death?"

He never recovered.

I have yet to encounter a polite, well mannered liberal when you have won or at least validated your points against them, and shredded theirs.

It seems that they only shout louder and lounder, regardless of who is around (this has happened at work before, very inappropriately I might add.)

Then again, liberals are just plain inappropriate, so what else is one to expect?

This is indeed strange, incongruent behavior from folks who pride themselves on being open minded and tolerant.

Well, living in their make believe worlds of socialist utopia, they're never forced by need to innovate. That's why socialism/communism *never*, *ever* works. That's just too bad/so sad. It's always fun to see their heads explode, or, another one wake up from the dream (nightmare).
