This is a great story!
On the link, there is a video of her showing how she fought back.

LOL!
Should have carried a fruitcake. Makes for a much better weapon.

I admire her spunk but she needs to get a gun.

Odd that the print version left out the fact that passerbys didn't stop and come to her aid.

I admire her spunk but she needs to get a gun.No 86 year old woman should HAVE to carry a gun.
What she NEEDS is to be able to go to the Doctor in anytown, USA without gangs of foreign national criminals being in her country illegally to attack her!

You didn't hear? The senate says laws don't have to be followed.

I agree but in the real world you know we aren't there yet. If she's competent and trained then age should have nothing to do with if she is armed or not.

Great story. I hope they find the mugger so she can beat him up.

"The senate says laws don't have to be followed." That's their version of the separation of powers. The lawless need not follow the law.
< Post picture of Sylvester Stallone as Judge Dredd here. "I am the Law!" >
I think that means Leona Helmsly should be made an honorary senator, if there is such a thing.
I've never seen one myself.

"Just where in the article does it say the attacker was a foriegn national or an illegal alien?"-- She said the guy yelled in her face in Spanish, "you're a prostitute." --
Of course, maybe he was a legal mugger.
