The fact that somebody sold him out must breed a lot of unease and mistrust to go with the info collected.Even if that didn't happen, we should be saying that it did for just that reason.

Well, but wouldn't it make sense to keep his liquidation under wraps for a while
I think it could go either way. Its like cockroaches running for cover when the lights are turned on. Knowing that their "fearless" leader is dead and that we collected intel from his "crib" , would cause them to run for cover.
