I wonder why people have never made a big deal about establishments that forbid hats. I wear a baseball cap. It is THE American hat. I am not some wierdo. I didn't learn this somewhere elese, and try to bring it into this society. I AM the norm. Yet, MANY bars & restaurants that I go to deny me entrance unless my hat is off. I have yet to see ANY of those establishments demand that a jewish person remove their beanie, or a muslim women remove their head dress. I am 31 now. i used to automatically remove my hat. I guess i have had enough. I will no longer give my business to these people. By not demanding a beanie to be removed or a head dress, this is showing me one thing. This person making the request is ignorant. they are PERCEIVING the beanie and the headress to be religious. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. JUST LIKE MY BASEBALL CAP! Yet they don't hesitate to make demands on me, and wouldn't DARE make the same demand on them. This is sometimes a case of, once again, proving that in our society, ANYONE can do or say ANYTHING to a white male with NO repurcussions. FYI, there are probably in excess of 50,000 religions in this world of ours. With new ones being born (made up) everyday. To instantly associate one article of clothing with a religion, and not even think for a second that another article of clothing could ever be religios, that is the epitomy of IGNORANCE.
I've been in more than one McDonalds in this country where no one working there spoke English. The last time was in New Jersey.
This is an update to this very old thread. I received a package in the mail today from Joey Vento. Inside was a letter thanking me for my support. He said that the response was overwhelming and that he was amazed that so many people agreed with his thinking. He is responding to everyone who wrote to him.
The big surprise was "a small token of my appreciation to you for taking the time to let me know that you are behind me"...a tee shirt with the words I AM AN AMERICAN...I ORDER IN ENGLISH on the front, and the logo of his restaurant on the back.
I sent the note on June 9, he is working his way through all of the mail.
Cool guy!!
