Way past the news curve...probably wasn't a big deal until yesterday when councilman Kenney mouthed off saying the sign was "an embarrassment to the city" - story's all over today - made Cavuto's Your World on Fox News tonight - hopefully the results of this poll announced on air at 4:30 (90% agree with the sign, only 10% disagree) will embarrass the councilman.......

I was reading a blog from a soldier in Iraq (sorry, didn't bookmark it and can't remember the title/address)where he's fed up with the third world nationals not understanding the food orders in the chow hall. He's decided to stop pointing at the food he wanted;instead he'll say the word and keep repeating it until the third world national figures out what he wants. The quote I remember is to the effect of "How hard is it to ask them to memorize basic vocabulary."

Granted, Philly-ese is harder to learn than basic American English but a steak sammich wid or wid-out is definitely worth the effort!
