Hummmm Seems like I remember this before from Carter. Quick, someone send them a history book!

You forget, Democrats don't read history; they edit it.

Do you honestly spend more per month for fuel than food?

I do, but I'm single and travel a lot. You may be right, but fuel and housing are two items that have gone up greatly, even doubling in many cases in just a few years. My house that I bought 4 years ago has trippled. This would be a hell of an increase to who ever I might sell to. I just find it hard to believe these things haven't negatively effected reported inflation indices.

All I know is that those increases, coupled with the increase in the amount I contribute to my family's health insurance, are greater than my raises for the pst couple fo years. I don't care what anyone says, but I think the true cost of living is going up faster than what the government says is the cost of living.

I certainly pay more in taxes per month than even close to what I pay in fuel cost. I suspect that is true for most Americans. Fuel has been rising quickly for the last few years. But when you look at a longer term, like 20 or 30 years, it has kept up with wages.
