Shut down all illegal immigration.
Shut down all immigration for five years or until the country can understand where we are in this problem.
Create a two week period for all illegals to contact local government to register so their case can be decided. Only those will a clean record, employment, and positive plan with an attitude of assimilation will be allowed to take a course in Americanism, forced to learn English, and allowed to stay. If they are found guilty of a felony at anytime in their lifetime they can have their citizenship revoked. After the two week period, all illegals found will be deported at a cost to them, no exceptions.
Those found entering the country after being deported will never be allowed to enter the country legally or apply for citizenship.

All employers found guilt of hiring illegals and not acting in good faith will be fined heavily, like $50,000 per illegal.

2008? It will be too late by then. If our Party doesn't know what the winning platform is by now, then we are lost.
The path to American Citizenship begins with coming to America the LEGAL way. The only line the illegals should be in, is the one back across the border. Cut off all their perks and incentives and amend the 14th Amendment. No more Anchor Babies.
No compromises.

If our Party doesn't know what the winning platform is by now, then we are lost. Lookit, the immigration issue surfaced only recently when the invaders took to the streets waving Mehican flags in our faces, talking of reconquista and American imperialism, then demanded the US Senate handover the US Treasury to their leader, El Presidente Vicente Fox.
Besides, there is a long learning curve for politicans.

a tangible PHYSICAL WALL.
REAL wall not virtual.
NO CONVERTABILITY OF THE GUEST WORKER VISA TO CITIZENSHIP. (convertabiliy is just opening up the green card program to unskilled workers)
Central database of all immigration warrents and deportation orders, MANDATE 100% of all arestees recieve an immigration check. No profiles, you get arrested, you get an immigration check.
