Zarqawi's death is a severe blow to al Qaeda. It's a victory in the global war on terror, and it is an opportunity for Iraq's new government to turn the tide of this struggle. A few minutes ago I spoke to Prime Minister Maliki. I congratulated him on close collaboration between coalition and Iraqi forces that helped make this day possible. Iraq's freely elected Prime Minister is determined to defeat our common enemies and bring security and the rule of law to all its people.

YOU are absolutely correct. This is a major victory.

First and foremost it is a major victory because it emphasizes the POWER of the new Iraqi Government.

Killing Zarqawi will convince many that this new government is in control and not to be changed. When Iraqis come to BELIEVE this is THEIR GOVERNMENT then they are one step away from the final victory.....the Iraqis worldview changing to the "this government is the way it is" unthinking living of their lives.

In case you were listening on the radio ( I was listening to WTWP here in DC) the sounds in the background were a motorcade passing through the town. (There's also a DC fire company very close to the White House, so their sirens also can be heard).

I woke my wife up. "Zarqawi's been killed," I said, "Good," she said with the vicious satisfaction of someone whose sleep has been interrupted with good news.

Get 'em Dubya. I still can't think of anyone who would do a better job as Commander-in-Chief of taking the fight to the terrorists.

My only regret is the b@stard did not suffer an excrutiatingly death, as happened to the innocents he slowly beheaded. Yeah, I am a cold SOB, but by God, this guy did not deserve a painless exit.

Congratulations to our Militray, the Iraqi People, the President, Tony Blair, allies and those that have never wavered on this war.

This is a good day for all of the above, and well earned given our opposition in the WOT.

The rest are either ready to climb under the covers in depression (Koskooks/Dem minus Lieberman/MSM), or full of guilt (I'd hope) for being less than resolute in this WOT (the American public that bought the MSM).

I'm glad he's dead. Not captured; but dead.

ABSOLUTELY!

This is some of the best news we have heard in awhile. Our country and our military forces are second to none. I am a proud Patriot this day.

Thanks for the ping! I'll join you in the Amen Corner on that.

Zarqawi was an OGRE. No doubts, trolls around the globe are hoping another OGRE arises in Zarqawi's position.

Bravo to our Troops and Coalition Forces, and from the bottom of my heart -- THANK YOU FOR RIDDING US OF THIS HORRID, EVIL, WICKED, DESPICABLE, HEINOUS, MURDERING, DISGUSTING, HATEFUL ZARQAWI.

OTOH, I can glean why the left is sad over his "passing": Zarqawi embodied the leftist credo of "leveling the playing field" and by his perpetual "post-birth abortion" practices.

YES!!! HE'S DEAD. LOVED SEEING ZARQAWI'S DEAD-HEAD SHOT AT FRONTPAGE MAG. I hope to see more of these shots.

I've got tears beginning to spill from my eyes.

Personally, On behalf of Mick, murdered in Fallujah, thank you brothers and sisters in arms, for avenging Mick's murder. You finished what Mick set out to do. Thank you.
