Intresting how little attention this is getting. You know if she had one it would be the top story everywhere. Another example of the Junk Media in action. The facts don't fit the story line? Just ignore it and hope it goes away.

50-45 in "solidly-Republican San Diego" doesn't sound too impressive.
To: fhlh
May all the DNC's victories be moral ones then.

The conservative Indy took 4%+... so it's more like 55% to 45%

I am stunned to see that this topic has but 3 replies. I went over to DU to see what's going on . . . 73 posts and a good half of the DUmmies are fretting about Diebold again . . . The other half are complaining that it was an un-winnable district. Funny, that's not what I heard leading up to the vote . . . This was to be the litmus test for November . . .
How sad for the Dems that every vote lost is now Diebold fraud.
To: fhlh
I wish them many, many more such moral victories, come November.

Busby got almost the same exact percentage of the vote that Kerry got in 2004. The district is a 45% dem "stronghold" and remains so. Bilbray underperformed Bush by 3-4 points but if you add Bilbrays votes to the hard core secure the border guys votes they total almost the same as Bush got in 2004.
What conclusions can be drawn from this? Many I suppose but the one I draw is that incumbents will win at their usually high rates and that most republican and democrat open seats will remain republican and democrat seats.

Spin as hard as you want, the Democrats lost. That is the ONLY factor you need to think about. Considering the NORMAL response to a disgrace Congress critter jailing is the district to switch to the other side, that the Democrat had an overwhelming advantage in money and media attention and the challengers was facing a fractured base, the Democrats SHOULD of won this.
So spare us the nonsensical DNC Talking points. The Dems lost a race they needed to win.

Pretty good for an "off normal schedule" election. But its not as wide as it should have been given Busby's declaration of "you don't need ID papers to vote" comment to a bunch of open border advocates.

This is an issue the Republicans need to take serious. If they don't learn from this, they may lose a couple of close races. If this split vote happened in a less Republican district the dims would have taken it!
