What about McClintock, Bill Simon and Michael Reagan? Are they RINOs now all of a sudden, according to you? They are all supporting Arnold.
Baugh hasn't made any big news since he was indicted with 22 counts of criminal conduct, including felony counts. How the heck did he ever ascend to a leadership spot? What's goin' on with those folks in Orange County?
BTW, the very end of the blog that was the subject of this post said the following:
"Footnote: Driving through Orange County, I did encounter some conservatives who expressed a different view from Baugh, Reagan, and Company. Stay tuned, Gizz-ette fans."
I guess he'll wait until after the election to report opinions from other than these 3 people (Baugh, Simon, Reagan).
>>What choice do they have? It would be more truthfull to say they support him over crazy left wing lunatics.<<
Conservatives in Cali and NY are in a tough spot.
The article gives more specific examples, which I am not excerpting, because I don't want to end up posting the whole article, piece by piece, but people should read it and make up their own mind -- it's clear from the article, that sure, rooting out fraud, waste and abuse can't be done instantly, but Arnold IS working at it and IS making progress -- unlike what any Dem would do.
It's a 2004 article saying the audit was abandoned. It implies that some of the issues might be addressed in the California Performance Review. The CPR was a piece of garbage and has been abandoned.
All told, no audit.
California's definition of "conservative" isn't the same as it is here in PA.
Or most every where else in America.
Vote for a conservative Republican tomorrow. There are three on the ballot.
I'm partial to the brakeman.
Tom Fuentes ran a taut ship. His personality and no-nonsense leadership style were not popular with certain (moderate) Republicans, although he was well liked by conservatives. When he was purged, several replacements were suggested. For reasons I will never understand, Baugh was the candidate who drew the fewest objections and was able to muster enough support with the New Majority types backing him. That's the way I remember it, although someone else may have more complete information.
"What's goin' on with those folks in Orange County?"
The conservatives are doing just fine, despite the hijacking of some of the party machinery by the New Majority Big Tenters. See, e.g., Jim Gilchrist's garnering 25.5% of the vote against the CAGOP candidate, John Campbell. This has resulted in Campbell becoming a born again anti-illegal alien warrior. Much like David Drier of Pasadena, lets just say he was "scared straight"...
I know you know this, but watch your back with these types. If they'll turn once, they'll turn back when you ain't watching.
*For clarification, I intend no religious meaning in the phrase "born again", nor did I interpret such in your comment.
Right on target.... no choices...just meager alternatives...
Especially this one. In his prior life, he was a RINO. But now he's in Orange County, not known for its patience with liberals, moderates or RINOs.
He knows he's being watched, and is not trusted by conservatives.
Oh... You're GOOD!!! I want you on my side!!! That term is so perfectly descriptive in that it brings these extremely humorous images to my dirty mind!!! (snort!)
