No wonder 100% of the democrats in Washington send their children to private schools. But God forbid a California black child would have a voucher or school choice. No cannot allow black children the same options we demand, say the democrats. Can't have these uppity blacks getting any ideas.
Just another day on the democrat party plantation.

Why are liberal universities so obsessively race-conscious?
In California, the problem is rooted partly in the restrictions placed on the state's public colleges and institutions by Proposition 209, the 1996 voter initiative that banned consideration of race and gender in admissions and hiring.
Then it's not really a problem is it? Race and gender should not be considered and it wasn't.
Practically everybody capable of handling college is already getting in right now [together with quite a bunch of those not capable of handling it].
For what it's worth, cultural factors work against many blacks going to college, and the people in charge of our politically correct institutions have done nothing to improve matters. In fact, they seem to have deliberately worked to hold blacks down on the welfare plantation, where their votes can be counted on. Blacks from well-educated, middle-class families are a different matter, but they are still a minority.
Young people don't take an interest in intellectual matters unless their parents or their peers encourage them to. A majority of blacks (and an increasing number of whites) come from broken homes and hang out with other children who share their lack of interest in anything intellectual.
I have sat on admissions committees for graduate school. There was always very hot competition for the few highly qualified black applicants. I remember that we offered a big scholarship to one highly qualified candidate, but Harvard offered a much bigger one.
Pat Moynihan saw the broken homes and the dysfunctional families coming, many years ago, but LBJ decided that there was more political advantage in encouraging blacks to remain on the Democrat plantation, and that has been their political policy ever since.
In my experience, it's not that blacks are any less intelligent. It's just that, with obvious exceptions, they have no motivation to be interested in academic matters, school or college.
The lower-achieving students are far behind before they get to high school. Dr. John Ogbu (may he rest in peace) did a great study of how black students are allowed, or even encouraged, to fall behind white students as early as 3rd grade.
"Other factors include the socioeconomic inequities that undermine elementary and high school education in California and elsewhere, with minority students disproportionately affected because they often attend schools with fewer resources, including less-qualified teachers and fewer counselors."
I am so tired of this worn-out excuse. My high school was 40% black. It was also the most well-funded public high school in the state with some of the best technology a school could offer. We had 1 black person finish in the top 20% of our high school class in 20 years.
There's a problem, alright, but blaming this on the schools isn't going to cut it.
I'll also add that the Memphis public schools start out teachers at about $14,000 higher than the state average through hazard pay. The fact that they have to offer that displays another problem.
What change? That he has blue eyes or something?
of course this has nothing to do with the california high school system.
No, they're not. The cause is that black kids who don't act like ghetto thugs or like crack whores are ridiculed, beaten up, ostracized, and even gunned down by their peers for acting "white".. You can't fix the problem until you admit what it is.
How many are illegals or children of illegals (since we're bean-counting)?
In this case, likely few to none if any is my suspicion. ;-)
"its getting hard out there for the Race Pimp"..
this has nothing to do with the california high school system.
Of course Not!
