Sheen's endorsement will help defeat the measure. Even some moonbats shy away from that loon.

A lot of people who are reading the Measure itself is stunned at had horrible it is written. They really use the Word "Parent Tax" in it. You think they would of been smart enough to put call it anything else.

Some blasted the universality of the initiative, saying it
would subsidize parents who can afford to pay for preschool on
their own while doing little to specifically help the state's
poorest youngsters.
yep, chances are the poorest youngsters are already enrolled
in headstart programs

Field Poll link Also from that poll...
Lt. Governor (Democratic): In the contested Democratic primary for Lt. Governor, State Senator Jackie Speier has pulled ahead of State Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi and State Senator Liz Figueroa. The current poll finds Speier the choice of 30% of likely Democratic primary voters, with Garamendi at 25% and Figueroa far behind at 8%. More than one in three voters (37%) are undecided. The current findings are a reversal of voter preferences from April when Garamendi held the lead over Speier.
Attorney General (Democratic): Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown continues to hold a comfortable lead over Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo in the Democratic primary for Attorney General. The current poll finds Brown favored by 51% of the likely Democratic primary electorate, while just 24% support Delgadillo. One in four voters (25%) are undecided.
Controller (Republican): Former Assemblyman and taxpayer organization president Tony Strickland leads State Senator and business controller Abel Maldonado 32% to 21% in the GOP primary for Controller, while 4% favor other candidates. However, a large 43% of likely Republican primary voters remain undecided.
Controller (Democratic): Fewer than four in ten likely voters in the Democratic primary offer a voting preference in the election for Controller. Among those who can, preferences are closely divided. Currently, 19% of likely voters support Board of Equalization member John Chiang, while 18% are backing State Senator Joe Dunn. A huge 63% remain undecided.
Treasurer (Republican): Only about one in three likely voters in the GOP primary currently express a preference between Assemblyman Keith Richman and state Board of Equalization member Claude Parrish in the Republican primary for Treasurer. Richman is currently the choice of 18% of likely GOP primary election voters, Parrish is favored by 17%, while 65% are undecided.
Secretary of State (Democratic): A majority (56%) of likely voters in the Democratic primary have still not made up their minds in the race for Secretary of State that features two female State Senators, Deborah Ortiz and Debra Bowen. Among those able to choose, Ortiz currently leads Bowen 25% to 19%.

Support for Proposition 82, California's Preschool for All Act, has plummeted, according to a Field Poll released Friday, and political analysts say the measure appears extremely vulnerable in the final days of the fiercely fought campaign. This is VERY good news against the culture of the Nanny State.........it's about time the Meathead got knocked down a peg or two (or 4 or 100)

Support for Proposition 82, California's Preschool for All Act, has plummeted Good news indeed! Thanks for the ping!
The Yes on 82 campaign, based in Los Angeles, tried to remain upbeat Friday, stressing that it was outspending its opponents by a 2-1 ratio on television ads. Automated phone calls from CTA President Barbara Kerr and actors Martin Sheen, Billy Crystal and Sally Field are also hitting voters across the state.
Just so you know which Hollywood schmucks are supporting this garbage.

We already have programs for pre schoolers. They are means tested though. One is called Community Connection. The requirement is that you be a certain income, working, looking for work, etc. They give you 3 mnths to find a job and then cut you off if you don't. Guess they figure if you can't find a job in 3 mnths you are not really looking. Parents who are attending school also qualify.
We don't need a Universal Meathead Program.

I can pretty much guarantee this measure will fail. Yesterday they were debating this issue on the Ronn Owens show on KGO San Francisco. Owens is left-of-center with a heavy leftist audience. They had pro and con guests on to debate and Owens had to BEG callers who were favorable to 82 to call in for balance because the board was full of anti-82 questioners.
If Meathead's minions can't even carry leftist Bay Area folks, they are in big time trouble.

PROPOSTION 82 - Total Communist Indoctrination of Children.
Take children away from parents and give them to the "state".
1. Celebrate Diversity. In other words, don't cry RAPE. Just open your 4 yr. old mind to the possibility that homosex is "normal, natural, and healthy". The NEA says it's so...
2. "...the state's poorest youngsters." Here is where we see the true evil of Prop 82. They go after the young children of the most downtrodden, the poorest, the most desperate. 20 yrs. from now, these innocent little poor children will be hardcore, unthinking, unfeeling conduits of Communist propaganda. THE STATE RAISING CHILDREN IS COMMUNISM. PERIOD.

I would LOVE to have Jackie Speier as an opponent.
California voters have terrible memories, so I give Jerry Brown a virtual lock.
Abel Maldonado will get to crawl back under a rock where he belongs.
Calude Parrish is a great guy for Treasurer, but Mr. Personality he is not. He also has the goods on Arnold so that works against his chances.
