Thanks for this post -- I'm going to make a t-shirt with this on the front.
KUDOS to the DC Chapter members who were able to make a stand outside Arlington Cemetery today!
Today is a day to remember the men and women in America's armed forces and honor them for their service and sacrifice. God Bless them all and God Bless America.

1988 Phelps provides rooms for Democrat Al Gore's presidential campaign workers. Though the Phelps-Gore connection will grow increasingly distant, Phelps' oldest son, Fred Jr., is invited to the first Clinton-Gore inauguration in 1993.

Save images while they're hot. They're better than Algore field dressing his rifle in Viet Nam. That one I've passed around to a lot of vets, they be speechless. Make lots of copies at OfficeMax and pass them around at the 4th of July parades along with the candy. You too can be the next Kristinn.

Do you really think they are Christians? I think they probably do consider themselves Christians. I would bet they are NOT SOUTHERN BAPTISTS. They may be independent, fundamental Baptists (very strict Bible believers) or just one little renegade church.
If the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is true, and I believe it is; then God could very well punish us someday. But, it wouldn't have anything to do with the Iraq war, that just doesn't make any sense at all.

My own feeling is that the RNC already is aware of the Phelps/Gore connection and is sitting on the info, waiting to release it at a prime moment (after the DNC nomoiation if he decides to run for prez in '08). OR, under another scenario, Hillary' campaign may be aware of it and 'leak' it to the media if AlGore pursues the nomination ahead of her.

Here's an excerpt from the AOL News story on this event:
Approximately 10 people from the Washington, D.C., chapter of FreeRepublic.com, a self-styled grass roots conservative group, held signs at the entrance of the cemetery supporting U.S. troops. A large sign held by several people said, "God bless our troops, defenders of freedom, American heroes."
They were faced off against a handful of anti-gay protesters who stood across a four-lane highway as people headed toward the national burial grounds.
The FreeRepublic.com group was trying to counter demonstrations by the Kansas-based group, led by the Rev. Fred Phelps. He previously had organized protests against those who died of AIDS and gay murder victim Matthew Shepard.

You're so welcome .. this is really an enhanced version of Senator Zell Miller's speech at the Republican Convention.
That's a good idea - putting it on a T-shirt. I think I'll join you.

Thanks Kristinn.
Bummer that you had to spend your Memorial Day across the street from these kooks instead of grilling burgers in the backyard but your efforts are eternally appreciated.

When military families find this out - Gore will be in real trouble. Not many would be voting for AlGore anyway. Even the Democrats, which are larger in number than some might think.

But .. the NYT and the LAT have had several articles lately about dumping Hillary for Gore.
And .. one of the latest stories says Hillary has only 19% committed voters. Algore has more than that .. because several groups in Hollyweird have already dumped Hillary.

Check out the original thread starting at the following post:

There are some early pics and comments. Kristinn still needs to post the After Action Report.
The police mentioned in this threads article were on the Phelps side only. We numbered about 20 when three of us had to leave after President Bush's motorcade passed by going to Arlington. Phelps also left at this time.
We had a great time. Four bus loads of wounded soldiers from Walter Reed came by and waved at us. It's hard to miss MOAB2.
Also, a group of cadets from the Naval Academy came up from the metro station. As their formation passed by us, we clapped.
