May God bless all those who have served, and are serving this great nation, and may He greatly bless the souls of all those who have given their lives to keep us free through the generations. My flag will fly high and brave in thankful recognition to them all on this Memorial Day. No barbeque, no gleeful get-to-gethers, but sober and prayerful reflection upon their incomparable sacrifices.
No, freedom is not free, lest we forget.

Yes, tomorrow is Memorial Day. I will spend it honoring, and thanking, my husband, a retired career soldier and veteran of two wars. I will spend the day remembering all his friends who will never come home---and those veterans in our families who will never have Memorial Day lunch with us again.
We all need to make a concerted effort to remember these fallen heroes more than just ONE day a year. Perhaps the best way to honor them is to make sure their families are well cared for---but the heroes, all of them, should be with us always.
