They're having a swine time1
"Just come on up and kill 'em" is what a WI DNR guy told me when I called.
I'm going to take him up on his kind offer soon.

What every one of them needs is a bullet.
Recently, the conservationists (in Aust) have tried to prevent pig shooting in state forests! They say they don't want guns in the forests. They should have to face up to these fast-breeding brutes.
No doubt. Every conservationist that doesn't want the feral pigs shot should have to fence and feed them in their front yards. That would change their attitude in a hurry!
hawgs of a different kind
Do you think anyone has ever told Kalinowski that the 25-06 did what it was designed to do.
NOISETTE OR MEDALLIONS OF WILD BOAR WITH FRESH HERBS
Noisettes-Medallions 2-4 per person
Olive oil
Wine Vinegar
lovage, mint, chives, parsley
Yoghurt or single cream
Pack the meat into a dish and sprinkle with wine vinegar and olive oil so that they are barely covered.
Add a small stalk and leaves of lovage, good sprig of mint, some chives and some parsley. All chopped not too finely.
Leave to marinade for and hour or so, turning occasionally. Drain off as much marinade as possible, wet meat will not brown so easily.
Heat some butter in a large pan that is smoking hot and sear on each side, before reducing the heat and cooking to taste.
As steaks are done remove to warm serving dish.
Pour the marinade and herbs into the pan and gently cook for a minute or so, until all the pan juices have been amalgamated. At the last minute check the seasoning and pour in the cream or yoghurt and serve
Can't do much with one of those big guys, but the little 80-90 lb. squealers are very good eating. I like slow roasting over oak coals with lots of good basting.
Then throw away the hog and eat the shingle?
Should be OK if the hog isn't too old. Cedar shingles are for Carp.
I was going to say the same thing.
He should get himself a nice 7mm, 30-06/308 Bolt Gun or BLR or Semi auto rifle to start. A "scout scope" configuration would be nice too.
You want something that can reach out and touch something across a field with a heavier bullet.
Maybe we'll get some of these to move into NY. Drive the tree huggers wild. (grin)
They're called RAZORBACKS.
conservationist is the wrong term. Probably that was not your term of choice. Conservationists would want to preserve the natural balance. These hogs are an introduced species that completely upsets the natural balance. Their exetermination cannot happen soon enough. The people who have problems with guns in the forest have a very different political agenda. If they are allowed to spew their totalitarian lies in hidden agendas, we will soon give up our right to choice.

Hey, that sounds pretty good! Shoot 'em and have the neighbors over for barbeque.
Muzzle velocity on a .25-'06 is around 4,000 fps. That's a lot of energy!
The steam coming out of the nostrils is a nice touch!
