Yep.

And even more importantly, we have read and understand the Constitution and Bill Of Rights, have read and understand the writings of the 'Founding Fathers' of this nation.

As far as reading Nietzsche though.... Many times I wished there was a way to just reach through the pages of a book and slap the author..... Sometimes, even when I agreed with him, I thought 'What a lousy, depressing way to look at things".

> It is the actual, real DD214 of one Jesse Adam Macbeth.

Is the DOD denying that they have a record of him at all,
or just no record as a Ranger?

"But U.S. Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg
found no evidence of a soldier named Jesse MacBeth ever
serving with Army Rangers or Special Forces, said Army
spokesman Paul Boyce."

> How does one wash out of boot camp?

I'd guess tons of ways; some unintentional, some deliberate.
Medical, criminal, psych, untrainable, uncontrollable,
falsified enlistment info, etc.

Our hero here joins the esteemed Dan Rather in apparently
having had an extremely short military career. Dan at least
waited a few more years before entering the forged DOD
documents trade.

Thanks for the info. Does washing out of boot camp result in a dishonorable discharge?

Not unless you deserve it. Usually is attributed as unable to adapt to military life.

I had never heard of the guy and he only stated

"Perhaps this will finally put this sad chapter to bed once and for all. I, through some old connections, have managed to come up with the unaltered DD214 of Jesse MacBeth. This isn't a joke or some funny little photoshop gig. It is the actual, real DD214 of one Jesse Adam Macbeth."

If he would have said the guy was a phony, I would not have said anything.

It's o.k. You're absolutely correct that releasing somebody else's DD214 would ordinarily be a problem.

But since he released it himself first, that waives any breach of privacy claim he may have had.

P.S. We're agreed he's a $#!+bird of the worst order.

Quoting famous authors and thinkers etc.,

There was a conversation or analysis similar to this on the radio today, where the "cubicle workers" have become a group of groupies, whose only conversation - other than when they will get their next break or where to have lunch as a group - is about TV programs where the characters in sitcoms or other commonly viewed programs are discussed using first names and commenting about the actors' TV lives as if about their own real families.

Sad! They never read a book nor have a need to. And as a one brush paints all comment, they form the liberal left and get their philosophies and social experiences from the soaps. Usually having none of their own of any consequence.

End of rant from someone with a British upbringing and education where books were manadatory both in and out of school and you eventually read every classic by every major author. Plus some in their original Latin (I passed on Greek since that required learning a new alphabet) and also in French and German.

Provides a very different outlook on life.

No I haven't, I'm either gathering stories, answering FRmail, reading replies, working doing volunteer work, stuff Mrs. SR wants done, studying, or working working. Guess you could say I don't get around the net much for obvious reasons

Light cotton is OK, it's the flannel PJs that have been put away.

Reading Caesar's Gaulic Conquest in Latin was not fun for a 1st year High School Latin student, reading Erwin Rommel's Die Infantrie still in the old style German was a little better having heard it occasionally at home and in the neighborhood, reading Field Marshall Montgomery's Memoirs made me look back fondly at Caesar's Gaulic Conquests. I Realize that the last two are not part of the great classics yet they take intellect to tackle and comprehend.

UNITED STATES ATTORNEY'S OFFICE

Western District of Washington

NORTHWEST CRACKDOWN ON FAKE VETERANS IN “OPERATION STOLEN VALOR”
Phony Vets Scam more than $1.4 Million and Damage Image of Honorable Veterans

U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Sullivan today announced some of the results of “Operation Stolen Valor,” a year long effort to investigate and prosecute those who lie about their military service for financial gain or other reasons. Sullivan and Doug Carver, Special Agent in Charge of the Veteran’s Affairs Office of Inspector General detailed eight prosecutions in the Veteran’s Affairs Northwest Region in 2007.

“As a Vietnam Veteran, and the father of a decorated Army officer currently serving, I feel very keenly the damage done by Jesse Macbeth and these other fakes,” said Jeff Sullivan, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington. “Macbeth’s lies fueled hostility to our servicemen in Iraq and here at home. Those who falsely claim medals for heroism, cheapen the recognition of our true war heroes.”

“The ‘phony war hero phenomenon’ plagues the American landscape and tarnishes the service of thousands of veterans who have served honorably. It strangles VA resources from providing critical care and benefits to deserving veterans returning from war,” said Douglas J. Carver, Special Agent in Charge of the VA Office of Inspector General, Western Field Office. “It all boils downs to this: these phonies submit claims to the VA for compensation and medical benefits they are not entitled to, and it takes away valuable resources from those who are entitled.”

In a dozen cases under investigation in the northwest, the fraud totals more than $1.4 million. Eight of the cases have been publicly filed and are in various stages of being adjudicated:

*Jesse Macbeth, 23, Tacoma, Washington, sentenced today in connection with his fraudulent claims of military service. Macbeth sought medical benefits claiming to suffer from PTSD related to service in Iraq and Afghanistan, in fact, Macbeth was discharged from the Army about a month after he joined. Macbeth never traveled outside the U.S. with the Army. Macbeth duped reporters, claiming to be a decorated Army Ranger who had witnessed war crimes.
