Where it is possible to defeat a Rino incumbent with another Republican that is more Conservative, I say right on! We need to purge the party of the liberals that have wormed their way into her. It may take several carefully planned election cycles to get them all, but it is exactly what we need to do.

We need to concentrate on the Red states that have Dem or RINO Senators first, then the purple states, then we can worry about purging the RINOs from the Blue states where doing so will almost surely put a liberal in power (like RI this year).

Hi coffeebreak... cool name,

"I will vote CP if the republicans don't move right soon."

As is your GOD given right. I guess I am being taken wrong, and that is my fault. I will try to make my point more clearly.

I look at any third party, and I see years of truly backbreaking work to get candidates on all 50 State's dockets, to build from the ground up a powerful party machine, attain huge amounts of funding to buy airtime, jet and bus rentals, millions of dollars for ad agency charges, paid advisers, grass roots activism, and get some candidates elected to at least "some" National offices. Then you can start to have an effect, as a party, on the outcome of the management of America.

That is all well and good, but we have today in the Republican Party, Elected Conservatives that think Conservative, vote Conservative, and eat, drink, and sleep Conservative. You see their actions in today's power-plays. We have a segment of our Party that wants to drag it to the left (and no, its not the President), such as exSpectorant, mcLame, chaffe, snowe, graham, and collins to name a few. The dims are far too dangerous for years of developement time, and we need to confront them hard this November.

It is far easier to get involved by letting those elected under our Party banner KNOW that we are not satisfied with their actions on many fronts... not just immigration. We can back Conservative Republican Primary candidates over Rinos, and we can write and call Rinos that have large support and will not be easily defeated. Get involved at some level and push to the right. You will gain more, and it will not take years to see the effect. Conservatism works whenever it is tried.

WE are NEVER going to completely agree 100% on all issues. As Rush says, "Being Conservative is not a monolithic thing". We need to "talk" to each other about disagreements, and try to form some type of consensus. As long as we keep America trucking in the right direction (notice I said RIGHT direction), we ALL will win "some" of what we want.

To: sam I am; All

My pedigree goes back to Valley Forge, so we're on the same page.

But this country has been sent back to 1968. In the minds of the sheep, 2001 hasn't happened, and we're all baby-killers here in Iraq - Marines, Guardsmen, the lot of us.

I return from war to find a nation in ruins. And I intend to stay at home in November and play with my son, of whom I've missed 18 months of watching him grow, because I went off to do a thankless job for a nation of ingrates of whom my service is neither wanted nor welcome.

The President appoints judges with the advice and consent of the SENATE. Lose the Senate, and NONE of the judges you like will get past. Not one. The democrats will not simply obstruct, they will vote them down.

I am continually amazed at people who think they have a winning strategy when they ignore the basics of how the government works.

I'm continually amazed at people that can't seem to separate reality from "what's on the books."

In your wisdom then, please explain why liberal appointees all float through (with extremely rare exceptions, even with a GOP Senate), while GOP appointees still get stopped at the gates many never to get through, also with a GOP Senate, and most of which that are truly conservative don't get through at all with a Dim Senate?

It seems to me that a bunch of GOP senators made a deal, with the devil if you ask me, to wipe a bunch of good conservative judges to the side, still, as usual, not getting the promises yielded by Dims and Libs, who shockingly (sarcasm) couldn't be trusted.

In essence, we have a GOP Senate doing a good chunk of the Libs' bidding, even on these.

Nevertheless, the point was in response to your point about judges screwing up the nation, which I fully agree with, but as one that the judges are selected by the President, not the Senate, as you agree. A strong president can easily overcome a hostile Senate. And quite frankly, if the judges haven't gone through by now, after six years, then I wouldn't hold out much hope.

I'll tell ya what's gonna happen, we'll win '06 and get tossed in '08 for President, Senate, and House. That to me would be tragic! But unless some messages are sent to a political elite, and perhaps even some replaced by say members of the Constitutional Part, then they will continue to have "Governement of the people, by the government, and for the government."

In my book a few shortsighted things that likely won't ever happen anyway, and certainly not to any impactful extent, is worth the risk to regain control BY the people in '08, or at least get a good grasp back on it, is worth the risk.

Only so much can happen in two years, especially with everyone focused on impeaching Bush while ignoring a good chunk of other stuff. But at the present rate, we, you know, the people, seem to have lost control of our government and it ain't sliding in the positive direction here.

It's real easy for posters to sling names, insist on GOP control, etc. But I must ask, what are their goals? Trading away a farm full of livestock for a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk ain't the way to go here. But that's OK, keep thinking about the next two years while ignoring the next twenty.

I see. Ignore the fact that every single class warfare factoid and talking point about the middle class being screamed by the Antis is utter and complete Economic nonsense. Ignore the fact you are using the exact same nonsensical arguments used by the Leftist Union Socialists use against Republicans.

Ignore the fact that your "facts" have not the slightest base in any sort of economic reality. You are mad. Your anger is being flamed by a bunch of neo Socialist talking heads like Lou Dobbs who economically cannot find their butts with both hands and a road map. Just ignore how the entire argument is built of Big Govt Socialist lies. Just ignore all the facts, logic and reality. That in a US Economy that has 4.7% Unemployment the Illegals are NOT taking a bunch of jobs that a bunch of Natives are just dying to have. That if you magically found a way to deport ALL the illegals tomorrow you would suddenly drop the US Economy into a recession because you would have the most massive labor SHORTAGE ever faced by the US Economy. Just ignore all reality because you are mad.

There simply NO reason to waste anymore time with you two. You simply have decided to be mad and you "Want to get even with them". Sorry but this sort of "Get even with'emism and Class warfare ranting is the LEFT's tactics. Spare me the pseudo Conservative/Libertarian rants. Your actions show you to be little different then any two penny Big Govt Socialist. The ONLY difference is how you what to use the Government to micromanage the US Economy to suite YOUR personal whimsy.

Do you actually read anything that others write before posting? See Stephen Covey's "7 Habits." I believe it's #6!

Absolutely nothing in what you just wrote seems to apply to anything that I wrote.

Also, here's a tip, allowing Mexicans to work here and opening the borders to them and practically anyone else around the world allowing them to come here virtually unfettered are two entirely different things.

But as you say, since based on what I've written here and elsewhere, you can't seem to grasp that simple, and well defined (unlike yours) fact, I shant waste any more of my time either. I'll assume that you see absolutely no difference as well. And you want to lecture me on socialism? Just wait pal! What you think is harmless "Mexican employment," if your statements mean what they say, then you're sorely mistaken and quite frankly, I'll have to ask if perhap you are the socialist plant here!

Well I am sorry to hear some Freepers are so filled with foaming at the mouth rage at all things political that anything rational or factual doesn't matter to them. Amazing how many "Conservatives" are just as much about "Get even with themism" as the Hate America Left. Really must be unpleasant to be so spiteful.

Doesn't change the fact that cutting off one's political nose to spite ones political base, or in this case actively working to help your political foes win over your political allies. is really, really DUMB tactics

You just don't get it do ya?

I'll answer for ya, No, you don't!

Allow me to try from yet another angle. As meanwhile I post reasons, facts, data, etc. while all you do is call me names and tell me things, most of which make absolutely no sense based on my past posts. But here, allow me to try anyway if not for your sake, but for that of others.

You're worried about 'socialism' and 'class warfare' if I've read your posts correctly. Well, so am I!

But see, I'm willing to recognize that the Senate just passed a bill fast-tracking us to exactly that, "socialism and more class warfare." But you don't see that, do ya?

It's certainly been laid out enough right here on FR by both posters as well as syndicated analysts/writers. So I won't bother to do so again assuming that that your head and shoulders are already pretty beaten and bruised and since you don't get it as of yet, another beating about the head and shoulders isn't likely to do it.

But, I will say this. Rush Limbaugh has stated numerous times over the past year or two that we are dangerously close to a 'point-of-no-return' of sorts regarding taxes. That we are fast approaching a point whereby those getting more from the government(s) than they're giving is increasing to a majority. When that happens, the chance of tax reform among an uninformed electorate (and Mexicans are as uninformed as they come) becomes virtually non-existent. So do tax cuts if voters have their way at that point since someone producing the salaries of thousands gets one vote as does a person on the government doles.

Well, the Senate immigration bill just passed all but ensures that such a majority will not not only be reached much more quickly than it would have been otherwise, but that if allowed to continue, would also hasten that transition!

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the extrapolation of that economically. So even you should be able to grasp it. Yet, you haven't, so why not?

Does it sound as if I'm socialist or communist from this post? If you answer 'yes' then you're FoS.

So for someone so concerned about our nation becoming socialist and smitten with large scale class warfare, your line of thinking seems to be not only utterly one-dimensional, but also terminally shortsighted.

Now, argue the merits of this post as you may. Further name calling does nothing to suggest that you actually understand any of this. Arguing the points can also be done without name calling. But you must first present some cogent arguments to the contrary other than I'm an evil socialist, which is so far from the truth that it's laughable. I'd rather die fighting evil and socialism than to live under it's grasp.
