You have to discriminate among the Republicans. Some of the Republicans, mostly in the House, are against the sham that is the Senate bill. Be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water.

If Bush MISLED us....Rush is supposed to know that? Jesus....
I mean a primary canidate running against McCain, Graham etc can use the footage of these traitors high fiving each other ect as well as their votes on this issue.
The citizens of the City of Rome, therefore, could not believe it when toward the end of the first decade of the fifth century, they woke to find Alaric, king of the Visigoths, and all his forces parked at their gates. He might as well have been the king of the Fuzzy-Wuzzies, or any other of the inconsequential outlanders that civilized people have looked down their noses at throughout history. It was preposterous. They dispatched a pair of envoys to conduct the tiresome negotiation and send him away. The envoys began with empty threats: any attack on Rome was doomed, for it would be met by invincible strength and innumerable ranks of warriors. Alaric was a sharp man, and in his rough fashion a just one. He also had a sense of humor.
"The thicker the grass, the more easily scythed," he replied evenly.
The envoys quickly recognized that their man was no fool. All right, then, what was the price of his departure? Alaric told them: his men would sweep through the city, taking all gold, all silver, and everything of value that could be moved. They would also round up and cart off every barbarian slave.
But, protested the hysterical envoys, what will that leave us?
Alaric paused. "Your lives."
In that pause, Roman security died and a new world was conceived.
Bush is figuratively screwing his party and the country.
What I don't understand is, WHY?
Hey, I voted for Bush because he was a conservative as well. He was (WAS). But he refuses to oppose anybody on any legislative matter. If the House bill were sent to him, he would probably sign that too. But his willingness to even consider something as treasonous as the Senate bill is a better reason for impeachment than anything the Democrats would propose.
To any apologist for the Senate or the administration THIS is your reality check. Read it and understand what is going on. If you still retain the garb of an apologist, then you are no conservative. You are the same wimp that supported Ford...Rockefeller...McCain...You are no ally to conservatism. You are its enemy.
He's sending them a warning.
I think Rush made an erroneous statement when he said: Republicans up for reelection voted "Nay."
Some Republicans who are up for reelection voted "Yea" for the "Amnsety Bill."
Chafee (R-RI), DeWine (R-OH), Lugar (R-IN), and Snowe (R-ME) are all up for reelection and voted "Yea."
Frist (R-TN) voted "Yea," but he is not up for reelection.
Most Republicans who are up for reelection voted "Nay."
Allen (R-VA), Burns (R-MT), Ensign (R-NV), Hatch (R-UT),
Hutchison (R-TX), Kyl (R-AZ), Lott (R-MS), Santorum (R-PA), Talent (R-MO), and Thomas (R-WY) are all up for reelection and voted "Nay."
Many Democrats up for reelection voted "Yea." Akaka (D-HI), Bingaman (D-NM), Cantwell (D-WA), Carper (D-DE), Clinton (D-NY), Conrad (D-ND), Dayton (D-MN), Feinstein (D-CA) and you can add Jumpin Jim Jeffords (I-VT), Kennedy (D-MA), Kohl (D-WI), Lieberman (D-CT), Menendez (D-NJ), Nelson (D-FL), Sarbanes (D-MD).
But some Democrats up for reelection voted "Nay."
Byrd (D-WV), Nelson (D-NE), and Stabenow (D-MI) are up for reelection and they voted "Nay."
Got that?
Good!
Call Rush on Monday and correct him.
I am beginning to be sick of this "good ole boys club" we have running the country. Who's to say if the people that voted against this were not up for re-election this year - they wouldn't have voted for it too?
I think, Democrats.....Republicans......a wink & a nod to each other - are kind of like tag team wrestlers.
"Okay, Bubba - you vote against it this time, since you're up for re-election this - I'll cover your back if you'll do the same for me when my re-election comes up."
Unfortunately, the Church is working against its own interests because while the majority of the illegal aliens do not support abortion, gay rights, etc., the Democrats they elect will.
Agreed, but let's not keep the bath water just 'cos there's a baby in it.
Landrieu voted for the destruction of this country. If God answers my prayers, she'll lose her job come '08.
Vitter voted against it, he'll get my support again.
If the House folds...we're done for. Time for a new strategy to be formulated.
What we don't need is leadership from Ivy League schools or other elitist institutions. George Bush, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry never had to worry about making the mortgage payment in their lives.
I would never go against my senators and congressman who voted against this betrayal of America. They are my heroes and what stands between us and them.
MESSAGE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE:
You know, when the President said he was "a uniter, not a divider" I didn't realize at the time just what and who he wanted to unite.
Where do you see any reason critque of the President from Rush in this transcript. Lot's for McCain. Spectre, Harry Reid, Lindsey Graham, but where do you specifically see the President called out in this transcript? He reads an article from the NYT (Yep the NYT) that talks about the President. But no where does Rush call the President out in this transcript. Deniablity.
