I got a call from a young woman from the RNC today, and I just told her that her party is so cowardly that it makes me cringe!

Those ratings are rigged by the groups that make the tabulations. Members are told in advance how to vote on this or that issue to keep up their percentages. They are rigged, just like everything else in the USA these day, it seems. Is everybody corrupt?

It's necessary for us to waste our vote or stay at home altogether in Nov. in order to teach these Republicans a lesson

I understand your frustration. We did you what you want to do in 1992. We paid for it for eight years. We gave the rats power and we got Janet Reno. And no retaliation for the first WTC bombing. The turning down of Bin Laden from Sudan. Millions of Africans died in the 90s and we saved a few thousand Muslims in Bosnia. We had a banker, lawyer, and a politician doing business (Whitewater) and the tax payer was out (I think 250) millions. We spent another 250 million investigating and all we got was a stained blue dress. The worst of it was the socialism Hillary was wanting to cram down our throats with the Health Care deal she came up with.

I am not willing to stay home and I am willing to claim the Republican Party as my post. I will clean this post up during the primary elections. Elephant territory is Conservative territory and I don't want no stinkin' RINOs on my turf. I may have to deal with them but believe me it is better then dealing with a total Socialist, Commie, Jackass.

I don't know if this fits this moment, but I feel like it does:

Jessep: (Jack) You want answers?

Kaffee (Tom Cruise): I think I'm entitled to them.

Jessep: You want answers?

Kaffee: I want the truth!

Jessep: You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!

Kaffee: Did you order the code red?

Jessep: (quietly) I did the job you sent me to do.

Kaffee: Did you order the code red?

Jessep: You're goddamn right I did!!

Go ahead and vote for Santorum. He has no chance, and you can tell us here on our forum that you voted for him, but that your vote didn't matter because it won't matter. One vote never decides an election, but one vote per precinct can decide elections.

You are a nice person, but the Republican Party is laughing in your face at your blind loyalty. It knows you will come through, but will the other dupes out there? I would think that the Democrats will gain 40 House seats, 10 Senate seats, and eight to ten governorships.

What is wrong with this Section of Senate Bill S.2611?

SEC. 131. MANDATORY DETENTION FOR ALIENS APPREHENDED AT OR BETWEEN PORTS OF ENTRY.

(a) In General- Beginning on October 1, 2007, an alien (other than a national of Mexico) who is attempting to illegally enter the United States and who is apprehended at a United States port of entry or along the international land and maritime border of the United States shall be detained until removed or a final decision granting admission has been determined, unless the alien--

(1) is permitted to withdraw an application for admission under section 235(a)(4) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1225(a)(4)) and immediately departs from the United States pursuant to such section; or

(2) is paroled into the United States by the Secretary for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit in accordance with section 212(d)(5)(A) of such Act (8 U.S.C. 1182(d)(5)(A)).

(b) Requirements During Interim Period- Beginning 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act and before October 1, 2007, an alien described in subsection (a) may be released with a notice to appear only if--

(1) the Secretary determines, after conducting all appropriate background and security checks on the alien, that the alien does not pose a national security risk; and
(2) the alien provides a bond of not less than $5,000.

(c) Rules of Construction-
(1) ASYLUM AND REMOVAL- Nothing in this section shall be construed as limiting the right of an alien to apply for asylum or for relief or deferral of removal based on a fear of persecution.
(2) TREATMENT OF CERTAIN ALIENS- The mandatory detention requirement in subsection (a) does not apply to any alien who is a native or citizen of a country in the Western Hemisphere with whose government the United States does not have full diplomatic relations.
(3) DISCRETION- Nothing in this section shall be construed as limiting the authority of the Secretary, in the Secretary's sole unreviewable discretion, to determine whether an alien described in clause (ii) of section 235(b)(1)(B) of the Immigration and Nationality Act shall be detained or released after a finding of a credible fear of persecution (as defined in clause (v) of such section).

Byrd may be a big liberal, but he also cares for this country

That is just crazy talk. Sen. Byrd is concerned about one thing and one thing only, himself. He is a gasbag partisan, without a sense of decency. He is an embarrasment to his state, and deserves to be defeated since he lacks the grace to leave on his own. Unfotunately barring a health problem, he will be re-elected easily, and that sucks.

His partner in crime, Sen. Rockefeller, is also an embarrassment. West Virginia can do better than these buffoons. Without the pork express, there would likely be at least one GOP Senator from WV.

You are probably right. Let me tell you something though. This is not my fault. My Rep and my Senators are all strong Conservatives. This post has been cleaned. I am disappointed in the Conservative who cut and run. Who stand their post and get rid of their RINOs. I say stand your post and fight. You should know that the fight goes on in the Primary first and for most.

If you cut and run, you give the enemy (commie rats) the upper hand. If that is what you want, then don't come to me four years from now. I won't be able to hear you.

Let me ask you something, how did you vote in 1992?

And House Republicans are probably being informed that any campaign fund-raising with White House personnel is contingent on voting in support of the bill.

Two can play at that game. All the House has to do is remind the WH that should the democrats get power the next two years aren't going to be very much fun for them.

I'm proud of Sen. Chambliss and Sen. Isakson tonight as well. They represented GA favorably today. I hope Sen. Chambliss is on the Joint Cmte.

I have voted for every Republican who has been on my ballot in every election since 1972 except for a state senate candidate who supported abortion in 1996.

But I cannot go with Perry this year. I am looking for a fifth gubernatorial candidate, but there may be none.

We did you what you want to do in 1992.

Not what I want to do! I guess I did need the /sarcasm tag :^)

I was commenting on those who suggest from thread to thread that we vote in ways to ensure a return of the DNC into real power. A "throw the baby out with the bathwater" approach that I refuse to participate in, no matter HOW upset I am with the wishy-squishy Republicans.

I agree with your approach.

It's all rigged. I think the election of GWB in 2000 was rigged too, but not because of the FL recount. It's rigged now for the return of Bill Clinton via Hillary in 2008. There is nothing we can do. It's possible Bill may take over and Hillary will "bake cookies."

I agree with the Perry comment. He turned his back on Texas businesses. I don't mind taking a Governor. I don't want to lose the Majority. I don't believe in giving any kind of power to the Commies on the left. I can not and will not do that ever again. Only time I ever sent a message was because of 'read my lips'. Biggest mistake I ever made. I will not do that again. Today, I see it as more important because I have boots on the ground. I don't want a Commie liberal being their Commander and Chief while we are fighting a war (that he will not believe in). This job has to be finished and finished right. We should have done it in the 90s.

You need to take a few wraps off the tinfoil, Teddy. There is no grand conspiracy at play.

Tonight feels like a low point to some, but the Senate accomplished nothing with today's votes. The House bill is irreconcilable.

Also rememember that 95%+ of Americans don't have a clue what happened today, and the Driveby Media is certainly not going to talk about how evil this mainly-Democrat bill is, so most Americans will not be affected in any way by this Senate vote that is causing such gnashing and wailing.

There are many other issues that will play out in the next five+ months that will likley have greater impact on the midterm elections.

Hillary will never be President unless McCain splits the party ala Perot when he is crushed in the primaries.

Gotcha bookmarked to my Links page to check your predictions on the National level. Just want to see how you do as opposed to your Texas Governor predictions of the recent past..... You remember the 'dream team'...

Hey I passed through your area a couple of months ago. The area on 35 north of the city is growing with leaps and bounds regarding all the cross border traffic of goods or so it looked like.
