Could it be that Bush would let it be known indirectly that if he were to get an acceptable Immigration Reform bill, that the search warrant issue would be worked out acceptably for Hastert?? That's precisely what is going on.
Either Hastert is a good little boy, and bends over, or...big bad Alberto "El Mexicano Grande" Gonzalez trumps up some charges.

Wish in one hand and all that. The inclusion of the most-liberal members of both parties on the Senate side of the conference committee tells me that they're not backing down much, if any, from what they passed.
While we don't know who will be on the House side, I've got a yard bet on Jim Sensenbrenner being kicked to the curb (if not all the way off the committee) so that a "grand compromise" can be reached quickly. After all, the White House already abandoned him on the contents on the House version of the bill.

Hello,
I should have known how he would vote, based how on his office responded to my call earlier today. The girl stated that Bond had not yet made a statement and besides(!!), there are other amendments to be voted on . Who the hell cares? The bill, was a sell out WAY before today.
That's it. I will work harder than I ever have to remove Bond from the Senate. It pains me to say that, but there must be a candidate that would actually understand that my son will have to deal with this shit.
Glad to be here, pissed off beyond belief, MOgirl

SELLOUT
The media claim that this has something for conservatives is a joke... they put some conservative hood ornaments on an amnesty vehicle.
That doesnt make the bill conservative.
1986 all over again.

Rush says the Mexicans will be required to pay taxes for three of the past five years. Where do I apply for this tax plan?

There will be compromise between the House and Senate bills and the legislation will go nowhere.

Snowe is 100% safe
Chaffee's conservative primary challenger might beat him, but he has no chance in the general election
Lugar is 100% safe
DeWine could be impacted, he has a slim lead over Brown at present...
