Well an admission like that is an admission that the rule of law doesn.t matter and neither does our nation.
I am deeply saddened by that.

I am not soft on crime. To the anser to your question if plea deals were not offered the system will screech to a halt. Every Shreiff and Da knows that. The key is finding out who to offer a plea deal too

The "Church" is seeking to do no such thing. A gaggle of liberal Catholic bishops is trying to undermine and destroy the immigration laws of this nation. By what right do you justify this arrogant lawlessness in the name of the "Church"?
If a Catholic Bishop wants to dabble in the laws, he should run for the legislature just as Tancredo has done. Otherwise he should stick to pastoral work among the sheep entrusted to him.

As far as I know, we haven't outlawed immigration from Mexico. I don't see why anyone would be opposed to reasonable legal immigration. Why must we allow Mexico to decide how many immigrants we accept? Why must we let Mexico decide who those immigrants are? It makes no sense.

Notice how Mr. doom and gloom tancredo has never worked in a wealth producing endeavor. The vast majority of his career has been on the public payroll. You lost me with that statement.
If you can't appreciate the worth of good teachers or the profession of teaching, then you don't know much. Not everything has to be "a wealth producing endeavor". If it were not for good teachers, there wouldn't be much "wealth production". Just because a person is not involved in a wealth producing endeavor does not mean the person is a failure. There is more to life than wealth.

You may be Catholic, but, if you think there's some mass movement back to pre-Vatican II spirituality, you're seriously mistaken.
Wishful thinking is not reality.

First off its not against the law or individuals to aid illegal aliens.
Read the rest of that USC 8 link so you don't keep making a fool of yourself. You really don't know what you're talking about.
You may get the label of stupid, liar, or at the least ignorant, if you keep making statements like that one.

"The vast majority of his career has been spent on the public payroll." Well, that applies to a lot of good people, e.g. Eisenhower, McArthur, Marshall, Schwarzkopf, Franks and a lot of anonymous soldiers, sailors, policemen, firemen, teachers, and others. You may not like Tancredo, but cheap shots always miss the mark.

Legal immigration is also out of control. We need a moratorium on all immigration until the ones already here can be assimilated.

Okay, while you try reconciling the fact that even KNOWING a person is illegal and not reporting it is a crime, I'm gonna get some shut-eye.
Later, but keep all your aliens hidden..

"Many Catholics are being drawn to the pre-Vatican II values of spirituality that once existed,
You simply don't know what you're talking about."
P.S., go tell that to Pope Benedict XVI who has been meeting with the pre-Vatican II leaders in attempts to reconcile the differences between them This Pope is much more a spirituality guy than an activist Pope, thank goodness. And he will give much more leeway to having the Latin Mass said, and also he will be much more busy in cleaning out the infestation of gays within the U.S. clergy. He's already started. Sounds like you aren't going to like this Pope.

No response to my exposure of your ridiculous strawmen?
Eccles, you don't know jack about the Catholic Church. You think you do, but you don't.

The Kennedy fortune was built by Joe "I like Hitler" Kennedy's smuggling and bootlegging operation. But I suppose that could be called "free enterprise".

It was much more fun when they were freely admitting hiring illegals. Ah, the good ol' days.

It wasn't a strawman. You made the comparison. We both commented on it. It was a ridiculous comparison to make.

Tancredo's spiel contains a not so subtle appeal to racists, bigots and white supremacists everywhere. He's demagoguing the immigration issue in order to strut about on the national stage.
It won't be long before the Democrats begin to paint him as a typical member of the Republican Party, in much the same way that Republicans have painted Dean and Pelosi to retain moderate voters, at which point he will become a big liability to Republican chances in future federal elections.
Tancredo has caught the wave of American protectionism (never far from the surface) which he hopes will lead him to a position of power and influence. He should form his own Party rather than embarking on a course that could split the Republican Party, as Ross Perot did before him.
If not stopped, Tancredo just might give Hitlery the edge she needs to be President in 2008.
