BTW, good post, pissant. It's generated a number of good responses.
SO WHAT?!?!
"I worked for two presidents who were men of faith,..referring to Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, both Democrats and Christians.
This is too funny and pitiful at the same time.
And Bush does not even APPROACH absolutist rhetoric very often. It's just obvious that he takes his faith seriously, so that scares the secular socialists like this hag.
The Church of the Blessed Bimbo.
It's the new (Sidney) Blumenthal translation.
I read one time that a spirit of accusation has been loosed against our President. When have any of us seen the kind of hatred and accusation against a President? We need to pray against that spirit for him (President Bush) to be victorious again. The demonic powers associated with the White House are heavy on him. Not just his administration, but all presidents.
Thanks. When I first came to Free Republic, it seemed like there was much more debate and good articles written by Freepers like John Huang 2. Now it seems we just bitch and moan about stuff (me, included!). M
As opposed to, say, fanatics hijacking jetliners and flying them into skyscrapers... |
And who knows where Iran would be today if he'd led him to the Lord and Jimmuh hadn't had him kicked out.
Bush called North Korea a part of the axis of evil. Albright clinked champaign glasses with a dictator while millions starved to death in the countryside. She is a piece of garbage.
Right. "Absolute truths" do drive Dems nuts. They prefer "indefinite falsehoods" from their Presidents.
My wife and I have met with another couple each week since Nov. 2000 to pray for Pres. Bush, and other leaders, the WOT, etc. This time with God over the past 5-1/2 years has convinced me that the great conflicts in our day are mainly spiritual in nature, not political, not ideological. The "accusers" you mentioned (and great insight, BTW) are on both sides of the political spectrum. In fact, I'm amazed how many folks I see on FR, supposed conservatives, who are essentially hostile to people of faith, to Christ, to all things of the Spirit. I couldn't care less whether Bush cow-tows to someone's concept of a "conservative agenda;" I'm more concerned that Bush keep his eyes on the Lord, and follow His lead.
What a blessing it must be for all of you to get together to pray like that. I agree wholeheartedly that our problems are spiritual, not political. They may play themselves out politically but the origin is spiritual. God has a plan, even now, for our country and we owe it to ourselves to find out what part we play in that plan. Will we be part of God's army or the forces in retreat? America will suffer greatly in the days and years to come. There will be more Katrinas and earthquakes and they will be as bad or worse than we've experienced before. We will also suffer economically. If people think prices for gas, etc. are bad now, they ain't seen nothing yet. Christians need to be salt and light to them, especially during these hard times. If all we do is complain and act like everyone else, where will the light come from? I always say we live in the best of times and the worst of times.
I agree 100%. The nation will be saved, and America will have a significant role throughout the global for good, not through a political agenda, but through enough people on their faces, seeking God's will and then agreeing with it. It's a blessing to have a president who seeks God's will. We need to be supporting him in prayer, not whining and naysaying.
Exactly! He's not perfect, never was and never will be but I sincerely believe he is God's man for America for this time in our history. He's been successful fighting terror and we haven't had an attack since 911. I'm sure there are sleeper cells just waiting for the chance but my prayer is always that no weapon formed against us would prosper and that there would be confusion in the enemy camp.
