And no matter how "filled" you think they were, they were the vast minority of Iranians.

Don't you lose business partners when they're taken over by hostile forces?

For your last hypothetical analogy to work, I'd have to think that the Shah was 3/4 under water when he asked for help. He wasn't, so your analogy doesn't hold water.
