Regardless of the verity of the claims, there has to be something to it. In 2000 a company called Xogen was making headway implementing the same technology and then dropped off the map after being acquired by a Canadian oil and gas company. Has a rather familiar ring to it, don't it?
Yes, it's called "Urban Myth"...
If you wish to take the time to do a Google search on "Brown's Gas", you can find plenty of articles explaining why this is a con game..
Seriously, take the time to do some research on it.
You will find that these are the same people that promote the Free Energy scams, replete with perpetual motion machines..
It's not a miracle gas, it's just hydrogen...
(Go Israel, Go! Slap 'Em Down Hezbullies.)
Still frequently used in Diesel performance applications today. It does make a lot of power during combustion and does help reduce exhaust temperature, but is is very corrosive.
Cars have been running on propane / LNG for at least 50 years now, it is an established technology..
For a couple grand a vehicle can be fitted for dual-fuel use, affording the use of Gas / Ethanol in a pinch..
Additionally, Hydrogen fuel-cells work just fine with Methane / LNG.. and you can store 4 times the volume of Methane / LNG than Hydrogen..
But the really big clincher is our own solar system...
Traces of Methane have been detected on Mars..
Entire Lakes of Methane recently detected on Titan by Cassini-Huygens probe...
If /when we go into space, the fuel of choice will end up being that which is readily available..
That fuel appears to be Methane..
Perfecting the technology now makes sense..
