Amid Katrina Chaos, Congressman Used National Guard to Visit Home
Two Heavy Trucks, Helicopter Were Involved in Lawmaker's Trip at Height of Crisis
What has Nancy Pelosi got to say about the politics of corruption now.
This too wil pass , as will the Cynthia McKinney assault case, The Patrick kennedy drunk driving case, it will all dissappear in a couple of weeks.
Culture of Corruption!!!!!!!! ROFLMAO
I don't know, Pelosi has backed off on her famous culture of corruption recently. Those others may go away but I don't think Jefferson will, he's too dirty.
Under what grounds would the reason for a search warrant be sealed? Since this is an elected official, this creates a cover-up right away.
And that going on while "everyday" people were stranded, suffering, hurt, hungry, cold, thirsty. What he did made me feel a great outrage and fury. Demanding that he have "special access" to protect his booty.
HA HA HA, now it's his "Booty" call.....
I don't get it. If a man has pled guilty to bribing a congressman then the congressman must be guilty of accepting bribes. Why hasn't the congressman been charged or indicted for bribery? Why isn't this congressman in jail or out of jail on bond? Why hasn't he even been arrested? It seems to me if the government agents had the proof that the first man bribed the congressman then the congressman is guilty of accepting bribes!
Don't forget that Mollohan guy that had to step down from his leadership role on the ETHICS committee, because HE may be indicted for some "wrong doing"...
I dare say if we add up both sides, the dem's side of the ledger would be at least as long, if not longer than the Republicans...
BUT, they have a tendency to put George Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Lewis Libby on their list...LOL
Yep, I think Mollohan is in a whole lot more trouble than what they're letting on. The next few months are going to be fun to see just how they're going to try to spin it, I can't wait.
Looks like there are some Bush loyalists in the intelligence community after all. If I read this right, they are playing good tactics. There is not much more damage that can be done to this administration (unless there is something huge that hasn't been leaked already) and now is a good time to even up the score. By the time the elections get into swing, everyone will be looking so dirty the GOP might be able to hold its own.
Anyway, it's red meat for the right.
Good article in a recent issue of The Economist called "Conservatism by Stealth" - I know a lot of conservatives are upset with Bush but just about everything that is in his power to control he is throwing to the right. It's just not stuff that makes the news because it's within the President's discretion and there are no political gains to be made by dissent.
Why keep a lot of cash in your freezer? I'm an honest guy but if I were crooked I am sure I could find better ways to hide my corruptions. I certainly wouldn't leave evidence such as bagloads of cash in my freezer (or, have a menu of corruptions with prices typed up, lol). Shoot, I'd probably have a safe deposit box in Switzerland and travel on a diplomatic visa whenever possible. 100% safe and effective.
Anyone can say just about anything. It's still got to be proven that the congressman RECEIVED AND ACCEPTED the monies. And he is still INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty in this country.
Now, I wanna know about the Dems in Africa doing this protest thing: What did they know about all this and when did they know it.
I like your post and agree with it. I'm marking this post so I can read the article at The Economist (was a long-time subscriber in past).
I agree with your statement but hey, we're talking 400 Grand here. The guy pled guilty to bribing a member of congress with $400,000 dollars. Don't you think there is some truth in the guy's plea? I mean, this guy is out $400,00 bucks!
That dollar amount does seem suspicious. Most Rats would sell their mothers for a tiny fraction of that much money.
