"It was the culmination of decades - not years, but decades - of hostility toward Israel and Zionism, not by the rank-and-file members of these churches, but by some of the leadership, said Rabbi A. James Rudin, senior interreligious adviser for the American Jewish Committee, where he staffed the interfaith department for 38 years."
Where in the heck is this anti-Semitism coming from? It's unbelievable that protestant church leaders are taking this position. These people have definitely become deluded and lost their way.
Israel is the best friend this country has in the entire world. Of course, for the "hate America" leftist crowd, that's not exactly a good thing.
The depths of Hell.
It's more that the Churches are leftist, I suppose, since the Left is traditionally anti Semitic and anti Israel.
The Far Left infiltrated the mainline protestant churches years ago and now we are witnessing the results.
I am Presbyterian, but not USA, thankfully (I'm PCA). But if the PCA were to do this, I think I would have to find another denomination.
This is a bunch of bull. I've been in two other Protestant denominations in this country and neither of them really care what the Presbyterians do in respect to following their lead. Talk about painting folks with a broad brush.
You hit the nail on the head. The ones proposing this are the liberal "churches".
Disgusting isn't it?
Christianity is an outgrowth of Judaism and Islam is a common enemy.
The Presbyterian Church hierarchy, like that of the Methodists and Episcopalian hierarchies, is morally and ethically bankrupt, out of touch with its Christian roots and proabably out of toouch with tis rank and file members.
Christians who believe in the Bible and Christ should simply stop funding, supporting or attending these abberrant churches.
"Christians who believe in the Bible and Christ should simply stop funding, supporting or attending these abberrant churches."
AMEN!!! It is known that the Presbyterian Church USA leadership has spent millions of dollars promoting their anti-Israel agenda over the years and the Presbyterians in the Pews are none the wiser that their tithes and offerings have been used in such a manner.
I believe that there are actually 2 groups, and the more left leaning Presbytarian Church USA is the one going for devestment.
Being Jewish, I never thought too much about doing some volunteer work for an umbrella group, Heartland Presbytery in Kansas City, until I heard that they're a member of the above mentioned organization. At that point, I stopped volunteering.

Most of the MainLine Seminaries are NOT Christian, though they claim to be. They have been turning out clones of their unchristian beliefs, for decades.
It should come as no surprise that the chickens have come home to roost.
The fact that the leaders in these denominations denounce God's Chosen in favor of Islam should come as no surprise to anyone. In fact, they choose Secular Humanism over Biblical principles (Christianity), while still claiming that they are "Christian."

Yes. Jesus, the disciples and early Christians were Jewish. Have they forgotten?
To whom has the Presbyterian Church been the "Conscience" of the Protestant Church? Dingy Harry?
First of all, there is no "Protestant" Church that I'm aware of. There are a number of Protestant Denominations though and I'm sure most of the would consider the "Mainline" Prezzies totally apostate, very similiar to the Episcopal "Church".
Confirmation?
"I'm no longer a white mainline Protestant".
Are you now a black mainline Protestant?
During his October 2003 presentation at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, Samir Makhlouf of the Presbyterian Peacemakers organization stated that the Protocols was a factual text that explains how Zionists have been taking over the world's politics, economics and communications. After the controversy became public, the group's representatives "agreed that they had made a grave mistake, and ... that antisemitism is anti-Christianity."[53][54]
