Sorry for the misspelling.

Last time I saw Governor Quinn was about ten years ago. Whenever he was out and about, people would greet him warmly and shake the Governor's hand. He was a very popular pol in his time.

One reason is that most Haoles are liberal Republicans, with the exception of Mormons.

There is something you forget something about Hiram Fong. He was not a conservative. In fact, he owed his elections to his strong allegiance to the state's labor unions.

Even then, he was nearly defeated in 1970.

Well, it's a tough name to spell without checking. ;-) His Congressional ancestor's name is even harder.

It's too bad Quinn's final foray into politics in '76 when he tried to hold Fong's Senate seat, came up short.

Oh, I know Fong wasn't a Conservative, but even as a moderate, he was surely better than the rest of HI's elected officials.
